Met Ball revisited – Good dresses.
The New York Costume Institute’s annual gala is THE fashion event of the year. Wall to Wall with stunning gowns and glamorous make-up, this is the one event that no fashionista wants to miss. This year the ball was a tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen, with the Savage Beauty exhibition of his fabulous gowns opening at the Met. Of course, this meant a range of beautiful McQueen gowns on show, but many other designers were showcased too, with Stella McCartney having a very busy Met ball. Coachella fashion – fun without the mud!
The Coachella festival kicked off the festival season this weekend, and as usual it was a feast of fantastic rock chick style. Coachella is the festival that allows fashion to fly, taking place in the Californian desert, in glorious soaring temperatures, there is no need to dig out those wellies and pac-a-macs for this festival. Denim hotpants, cute mini dresses and toe-post Havaianis are all part of the wardrobe, as are maxi dresses = safe in the knowledge you will not be swishing these through mud soaked fields.
