It’s the 1st of March, and for me at least, that officially means that Winter is almost over and we can start to think about Spring, and, more importantly Spring Fashion. In the past this used to mean a complete blow out shopping trip, giving the plastic a real bashing and coming home laden with more bags than I could ever hope to carry (taxi for Emma please.) But, these days, due to being more savvy with shopping, and more careful with money, I find that I pick key pieces to update my wardrobe, and then look for other ways to make a saving.
Here are a few of my March picks, along with some March money saving tips.
Check out the Voucher Code Websites.
This may seem like a no brainer, but I never buy a single thing online without first checking to see if there are any current voucher codes. These can range from money-off offers, to free delivery and returns. There are lots of voucher codes sites around, but I love My Favourite Voucher Codes because it donates 20% of all profits to good causes each month, making that shopping a little more guilt free. You can also download their app too, which allows you to check for codes when you are out and about.
Currently it has a code for 20% off selected dresses at Dorothy Perkins, here are a couple I have my eye on. Great to wear now, but also very transitional as the weather begins to warm up.
Take a look at the sales
Almost all websites have a sales section that is a permanent feature. It is always worth checking them out when you are looking for basics and classics. Knitwear is transitional, so with a view towards Spring, thinner knits are a good buy. In addition, denim, classic shift dresses and anything monochrome will never go out of fashion and will therefore prove a shrewd buy.
Wallis is great for classics and currently has a good sale with lots of pieces to wear now and wear later.
Sign up for emails and updates
This morning I have received an email informing me that the Miss Selfridge sale has started today. Most online stores have email updates that you can sign up to which let you know about new sales and further discounts. Combined with voucher codes for free delivery, or a further 10% off sale, these updates can enable you to make really significant savings.
