    Holly Willoughby for Very.

I love Holly Willoughby. She’s a gorgeous lady who I personally think always comes across well on the TV. Warm and compassionate on This Morning, funny and with a great sense of fun on Celebrity Juice, she always seems like the kind of girl you’d be happy to drink cocktails and gossip with. And then of course, she’s ultra interested in fashion. Holly has recently launched her latest collection for Very, a range that she is happy to wear as part of her own wardrobe. And I can see why she would be happy to do that – it is just full of pretty, retro inspired designs that are crafted…

The NTA’s – The best looks

The National television awards are always a feast of fashion, some good and some very, very bad. This year there were actually some really gorgeous looks on the red carpet that oozed style, sophistication and enough full on glamour that would mean they wouldn’t look out of place on a Hollywood red carpet. The Brits – best dressed

The Brit awards were just a little bit boring and predictable weren’t they. How I longed for the rock n roll of Jarvis Cocker, Ron Wood and Brandon Block, or even Geri Halliwell in that Union Jack tea towel. The right people won the awards, James Corden did a pretty decent job, but it was all a little bit safe. Still, there were some great fashion looks to admire. Here are my faves. Get the Look The ageless goddess that is Kylie Minogue chose a beautiful Grecian style dress by Yves St Laurent. With its nod to Halston it had just enough disco for the Brits. Kylie showed that her…

    5 Random fashion irritations

Having a quiet day today, baba is having a sleep, giving me the chance to flick through Heat, Grazia and Look, and to have a sound off about a few random fashion irritations that annoy me on a regular basis. People who wear winter boots, particularly Uggs, in Summer. Give your trotters a bit of an airing while you can. I look at girls wearing heavy boots, with bare legs and short skirts and all I can think is feet fungal infections. It’s so not a good look. Fearne Cotton!!! This women is supposeably a style icon. I could sum up her look in one sentence – a badly dressed…

    Myths about curves!!

Two stories in the news have caught my eye recently, each suggesting that ‘curves’ are back in style. One story concerned an MP who said that women should aspire to the more healthy, feminine shape of Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks, rather than skinnier models. The second article concerned the sudden leap in sales of ‘big knickers’, not the Bridget Jones variety, but the 50’s style Waistnippers magic pants that can help achieve a hourglass figure. But before we all heave a great big sigh of relief that curvy is now desirable, perhaps we ought to look more closely at the myths and realities of curves. MYTH ONE – WASN’T MARILYN…
