Louis Vuitton channels Elizabeth Taylor for the new season
Flicking through my September Issue of Vogue, I found that I just kept turning the pages back to look at the stunning images from the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign. Made up of stunning photographs showing the likes of Karen Elson and Gisele Bundchen, almost unrecognisable in black wigs. The models are clad in sensible winter coats being worn over the wispiest of silk slips and shifts, and my mind was drawn to one of the ultimate style icons of the 20th century in two of her most famous, and also controversial, roles. It was a collection that I thought was cute on the catwalk (or escalators in actual fact), but wasn’t really sure who would wear it in real life. The answer proved to be ‘everybody!’. Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer collection for Louis Vuitton 2013 has proved to be one of the most popular collections ever in terms of celebrity patronage.
