Mrs Claus Style – Red Hot from M&S
As far as I am concerned, M&S have officially won Christmas. I love Buster the Boxer, but Janet McTeer, in her glamorous red outfit, totally owns the screen as the glamorous, elegant Mrs Claus, saving the day for Jake and showing his sister how much he loves her. Mrs Claus is cool, unflappable, not one for reindeers or chimneys, but possibly the only person in the world who could make eating a mince pie seem like a glamorous activity. She is, quite frankly, a new woman crush, because no one could refer to the glorious Janet as a mere girl. Mrs Claus shows that as well as being the most…

Fashion Focus – Adding red to your wardrobe
Following on from yellow and blue, my latest colour focus is based on the hottest colour, one that is, quite literally, red hot. Yes, Red is having a bit of a moment, with a host of celebrities wearing the colour to a number of high profile events. From the gorgeous Kate Upton in a lighter shade of red that borders on coral, to Elle Fanning resembling a young Gwyneth Paltrow in a sizzling scarlett silk number, red is making an appearance in all its shades and glory. Red is a bit like the bright version of black in that it is one of those colours that never really goes away.…

The little red dress
With today being February 14th, that most romantic of days, it seems like my focus for Friday’s shopping post could only be one thing, the little red dress. Valentine’s Day always seems to increase the popularity of the hottest colour around, and the celebs have been flaunting their red-hot numbers on red carpets and runways, showing that if you want to get ahead – wear red. If we look back at some of the most iconic dresses in our movie history, we see that the one thing many of these disparately different frocks had in common was the colour. Who can forget the naughtiest of debutantes, Bette Davis, scandalising the…

Kate wears Whistles to visit National Gallery
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the National Gallery today, as the first official portrait of the Duchess was unveiled. Kate looked blooming and beautiful in a gorgeous Whistles dress that had been previously seen in 2012. There was just the slightest hint of a baby bump, but for once, the discussions that raged following the visit were not about the Duchess’s pregnancy. The discussions, many of them totally hilarious, focused on the portrait by Paul Elmsley. It is, quite frankly, hideous. Kate appears to be at least 2o years older than she actually is, and with very puffy facial features. Many have commented about how wrong the nose…

Stephen Arthur and his Perfect Party dress
Birmingham has a new style star. Stephen Arthur, an ICT teacher from Birmingham, created the winning design in a very special competition hosted by ITV’s This Morning programme and John Lewis. Called ‘The perfect Party dress’, the brief was to create a beautiful gown that could make all women look and feel like a million dollars. It also needed to be affordable and current. Stephen was judged the winner after a public vote. His design, in vibrant and very christmassy red, is a timeless, elegant classic. A stunning floor-length ball gown, crafted from the floatiest of chiffon, the dress has a crossover neckline that creates a structured and feminine silhouette,…
