School Run fashion
According to a poll conducted by Debenhams, six in ten moms feel pressure to dress to impress whilst doing the school run. More than 1/3 wear heels when they are walking/driving their little ones to school. On average, they spend one hour and 15 minutes getting ready to drop the kids off. Why is the school run now a fashion event? When I started to do the school run, I started off going in jeans and flat shoes – even travelling by car we could still have a ten minute walk due to the parking situation. I was amazed at just how some of the moms were dressed. Tight skinny…

Get set for Wimbledon with Tennis white style
My favourite sporting tournament of all starts on Monday, I love tennis, it is my sport of choice to watch, and Wimbledon is just the epitome of a stylish tournament, with celebrities, royals and all-round beautiful people taking their places in the confines of the All-England Club. Wimbledon is the sporting event to see, and be seen at, the most iconic of all the Grand Slam events. Of course, one of the things that Wimbledon is most famous for is the all-white rule. At the Aegon Classic tournament, the ladies went gaga for a stunning blue and orange outfit sported by Daniela Hantuchova, but at Wimbledon, this sort of look…

Net and Tulle Skirts – Sex and the City Lives on
There have been many iconic, on-screen moments when it comes to fashion. On the big screen we’ve had Marilyn Monroe in Travilla white pleats. Scarlett O Hara knocking up a dress from a set of velvet drapes in Gone with the Wind, Annie Hall with her love of thrift shop men’s tailoring, and Judy Garland in Dorothy’s Ruby Red slippers. On the small screen, there was the Rachel cut that launched a million copycats, the glitz and glamour of Dynasty complete with sequins and shoulder pads, and more recently, the peaked caps, sever haircuts and sharp tailoring of the Peaky Blinders – who are soon to have a fashion range…

My favourite front Row looks from New York
It is September, and that means we are in the midst of the fun, frolics and fashion that make up the Fashion Weeks. Currently London is having its moment in the spotlight, following on from last weeks New York Fashion Week. And it is New York, and its eclectic mix of front rowers, who are the focus of this post. I love to watch the front rows, and, more specifically, the outfits that those sitting in those most coveted seats choose to wear. New York has a reputation for showing a range of stylish and cool looks, with a front row that can include anyone from SJP, Kate Bosworth, Alexa…

The Met Gala – My favourite looks
Last night saw fashion’s most glamorous night, with the annual Met Gala taking place in New York. Everybody who was anybody, in the fashion world, in Hollywood, in television, turned out in force, showing off an array of some of the most beautiful gowns I have ever seen. The theme this year was linked to a new exhibition dedicated to Charles James, the 1940s/1950s king of couture. The Beyond Fashion exhibition was opened this week by Michelle Obama, and showcases a range of billowy, dramatic, sculptured dresses that Charles James was famous for. I was glad to see so many Charles James influenced dresses on the Met red carpet, most…
