Selfridges Birmingham enjoy Big Beauty Bang
Thursday night saw Selfridges Birmingham in party mood as it started a Summer celebration of all things British with the Big Beauty Bang. This was a night dedicated to all things pampering as make-overs, champagne and goodie bags dominated the proceedings. The atmosphere was a little bit carnival (think hoola hooping Cabaret ladies), a little bit fairground (the most amazing grabbing machine…more later) and very, very British – Union Jack Pommery Champagne anyone? Every beauty counter was offering free gifts with purchases, with key make-up artists also in attendance offering make-overs and beauty guidance. It was lovely to see Cesar Santos performing his cosmetic wizardry for Giorgio Armani, and I…

Madonna launches her first perfume
It’s taken Madonna a long time to come up with her first perfume. After a career that has seen music, film, video, books, clothing for her own line and collaborations with H&M amongst others, it is hard to believe that 2012 has seen the very first fragrance from the Material girl. Hard to believe, but true. But the Queen of Pop has finally dipped her multi talented feet into the fragrance pond with the launch of Truth or Dare, her first perfume, which is currently available exclusively at Selfridges. Like the recent Stella McCartney fragrance L.I.L.Y, Truth or Dare was inspired by the singer’s mother, who tragically died when Madonna was…

Pistol Panties Pop Up Shop launched at Selfridges
Last week saw the launch of the Pistol Panties pop up shop in Selfridges London. Bloggers and Press were invited along for a sneak preview before the official launch, enjoying the unique experience of the huge Selfridges store with no customers. Designer Deborah Fleming was on hand to talk about the collection, and a gorgeous carousel style Unicorn took pride of place in the centre of the swimwear, adding a psychedelic and slightly surreal atmosphere to the proceedings. Pistol Panties latest swimwear collection has been inspired by the 1960s Raquel Welch Western Bandelero. Designer Deborah Fleming grew up surrounded by brothers who loved to watch such films on Saturday afternoons.…

Glamorous Eyewear that helps to give sight – Toms launch at Selfridges

The company behind the ‘One for One’ movement that has provided thousands of new pairs of shoes for children around the world, are now expanding their operations to provide further essential help for those in need. This time, CEO Brett Mycoskie, has focused on another key issue, that of sight. Toms have launched a fabulous new collection of eyewear exclusively at Selfridges. This is a fashion forward collection that includes all the classic styles of sunglasses, wayfarers, aviators and stylish oversized designs. I particularly love…

Rihanna’s hot label – Boy London, available at Selfridges
She is probably the hottest star in the world at the moment, so when Rihanna choses to wear a label for her appearance on the Jonathan Ross show, there can be no surprise when that same label posts a 45% rise in orders over the weekend alone. The label in question is the iconic Boy London. I love this label so much because it reminds me of being a little girl who idolised a totally gorgeous Madonna, who often wore the label in the 1980s. The label was famous for the eagle logo t-shirt that was much-loved and much copied during that period. And now Rihanna has shown it to…
