TV BAFTAS – The best looks

Last night was the TV BAFTAS, which saw the most stylish stars of the small screen walking the red carpet. Anna Friel, Thandie Newton, Suranne Jones and Tess and Claudia were amongst those who turned up to celebrate the most glittering night in the television calendar and were also amongst the best dressed, with Thandie and Anna taking my own personal vote.

The designs were surprisingly varied, most award ceremonies this year have seen very similar styles, or a run on one particular colour, but the BAFTAS ranged from very elegant little black dress styles sported by the likes of Jessica Raine, slinky cocktail dresses like the sugar pink Roland Mouret cocktail style worn by Tess Daly. I loved that singer Ella Eyre kept it young and funky in frothy pink Molly Goddard, and that Thandie totally brought Hollywood class in a Vivienne Westwood dress that was almost rose gold in colour, and stunning in design.

Joanna Lumley showed that real style is timeless and looked elegant in a fluid silver skirt, whilst Suranne Jones showed once again why she is one of the most stylish and talented stars of the small screen in a red ballgown by Suzanne Neville.

I have picked out my personal favourite gowns from the night – did anyone stand out for you?

Strictly Come Dancing is back

Normal television service is resumed tomorrow night. After a summer of pretty shoddy Saturday night television, tomorrow the sequins, the bare toned torsos and the ‘ten from Len’ all return as Strictly Come Dancing returns to the screen. With the likes of Peter Andre, Ainsley Harriot, Kellie Bright and Jeremy Vine in the line-up, it promises to be a vintage year, with the beautiful and the hilarious meshing to make TV Gold. I can hardly wait.

It seems Strictly fever is about to hit in some style. The Live show tickets will be on sale from 9am on Monday 28th September, returning for it’s 9th year, this seasons shows will see the return of the TV judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, after a brief leave of absence for the last tour. There will be a post next week which will focus on ticket information, you can also read about my experiences on the live tour last year here.  If you think you are a Strictly Superfan, you can also check out the fun quiz put together by Which Bingo which tests your knowledge of all things #SCD, there are questions about current contestants, previous winners, dances and professional dancers. You can find the quiz here, so have a go!

One of my favourite things about Strictly is the fashion. I really look forward to seeing what Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will choose to wear. I have put together a style parade of some of my favourite looks from previous series – the ladies have such different styles, but they compliment each other so well. Strictly Come Dancing is never less than a supremely stylish season, and I cannot wait to see what this year brings.

Strictly Style

Are you looking forward to the return of Strictly? Do you have a tip for a winner? Have you tried the quiz yet? (I have, I got 12 out of 20 which is 60% and just a little disappointing!) Would love to know your thoughts.

The NTA’s – The best looks

The National television awards are always a feast of fashion, some good and some very, very bad. This year there were actually some really gorgeous looks on the red carpet that oozed style, sophistication and enough full on glamour that would mean they wouldn’t look out of place on a Hollywood red carpet.

Here are the looks that I loved.
