The Met Gala – My best dressed
It is probably the most glamorous fashion event of the year, and this year again proved that when the world’s of Hollywood, fashion and modelling combine, you are sure of some totally standout looks, along with a couple you’d rather forget. This year’s theme was Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, which ensured there would be a sea of Prada on display, along with a wonderful tribute to Schiaparelli’s famous Lobster print dress worn by Anna Wintour. There were plenty of other gowns to tantalise the fashion taste buds. These are my favourites from a wonderfully glamorous night. Carey Mulligan looked like a wonderfully space aged Judy Jetson in this stunning…

Christian Louboutin at the Design Museum – The Press Conference
I was mega excited to receive an email inviting me to the press conference and preview of the much-anticipated Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Design Museum. I am a huge fan of the man who created all those beautiful red soled shoes worn by fashionistas across the globe, and so couldn’t wait to get up close and personal with some of his most iconic designs. The Press conference took place on a beautiful sunny day at the Design Museum, with a panel made up of Christian Louboutin, Deyon Sudjic of the Design Museum, Simon Stacey the creative director of Household, and Diane Loveday the exhibition creator. The following is a…

Selfridges Birmingham enjoy Big Beauty Bang
Thursday night saw Selfridges Birmingham in party mood as it started a Summer celebration of all things British with the Big Beauty Bang. This was a night dedicated to all things pampering as make-overs, champagne and goodie bags dominated the proceedings. The atmosphere was a little bit carnival (think hoola hooping Cabaret ladies), a little bit fairground (the most amazing grabbing machine…more later) and very, very British – Union Jack Pommery Champagne anyone? Every beauty counter was offering free gifts with purchases, with key make-up artists also in attendance offering make-overs and beauty guidance. It was lovely to see Cesar Santos performing his cosmetic wizardry for Giorgio Armani, and I…

Style Icon of the month April – Emily Blunt
My choice for style icon for the month of April was a no-brainer. At a host of film premieres, and the Tribeca film festival, Emily Blunt just stood out from the sea of bodycon, micro-minied lovelies in a style that is almost a cross between that of Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly. With an exquisite collection of ladylike, calf length shift and prom style dresses. Unlike Kate Middleton though, Emily knows her designers. From red lace from Michael Kors, to my favourite, the wonderful yellow dress from Elie Saab, Emily has worn clothes with serious designer credentials. These are clothes that flatter her figure and body shape, whilst showing her…

Bonacure Colour Freeze conditioner – Five reasons to try it.
I was recently asked if I would like to trial a new product from Schwarzkopf Professional. The Bonacure Colour freeze conditioner promised that beautiful, salon-professional hair colour could be maintained for longer by sealing in and protecting the colour. As I’ve recently changed my hair colour and added hghilights, this intrigued me, so I was definitely up for trying this product. And, I have to say, I have been seriously impressed with this choice. Here are five reasons why I would recommend this product. 1. It seems to actually work. Although I can’t say yet whether it will actually help to maintain my colour longer, I can certainly say that…
