Simon Webbe Breathes Life into The Big Bad Wolf in ‘The Three Little Pigs’
If you are looking for a highly original, family friendly show to watch this Summer, then you need to check out Stiles and Drewe’s ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Starring Birmingham’s own Simon Webbe as the Big Bad Wolf, the ‘Three Little Pigs’ promises to be a new spin on the story, with jokes and songs, and a chance to find out a little more about the snouty faced creatures who somehow manage to outfox the wolf. As well as Simon, who I had the pleasure to grab a few words with earlier this year when he was in town for the Strictly Come Dancing Live shows, the cast is full…

Lego Deep Sea Explorers at Birmingham Sea Life Centre
The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham is one of the City’s top family attractions. Each Summer it has a special themed event to tie into school holiday time, with Moshi Monsters and Octonauts being featured in previous years. This year, children are offered the chance to be Deep Sea Explorers with Lego City, having a dive log book which they are able to stamp as they proceed around the centre finding Lego equipment and answering questions about the creatures of the Sea Life Centre. On Saturday, I took my family to the centre to attempt the challenge. We had great fun. Any trip to the Birmingham Sea Life Centre starts…

Designer jewellery boutique Cadenzza arrived in Birmingham recently, and last month saw the store launched officially with a very special party. Cadenzza is part of the Swarovski group, and offers a huge range of jewellery that encompasses established designers like Roberto Cavalli, Oscar De La Renta and Maripossa. It also introduces new design talent and handpicked luxury fashion jewellery, and was created to bring together a huge selection of the most amazing jewellery pieces from around the world. On this…

Green Giant Minions
Minions fever is about to hit all over again. Next week sees the release of the Minions own movie, which starts in New York 1968 (42 years before Gru). All our Minion favourites are back including my own personal favourite Kevin, and it seems that the excitement about the strange and hilarious yellow creatures is about to explode all over again. It even reached Birmingham’s Museum and Art Gallery, where, this week a rather wonderful Minion related video was filmed on CCTV, which literally enchanted the World. Some might say that The Minions resemble a large piece of sweetcorn, albeit one with a face, and to celebrate the new Minion…

Birmingham Royal Ballet The King Dances/Carmina Burana
The Birmingham Royal Ballet celebrated David Bintley’s 20th anniversary as director with the opening of a new double header. The World Premiere of ‘The King Dances’ and a revival of ‘Carmina Burana’ promised to bring drama, morality, sex and just a little bit of horror to the Birmingham Hippodrome, and this was all delivered in spectacular style. The King Dances The King Dances is a brand new ballet from David Bintley. Freely based on Le Ballet de la Nuit from 1653, and on the legendary Louis XIV, the Sun King of France, ‘The King Dances taps into dance and theatre from history by being performed by a company almost wholly…
