Cannes – Best looks
Cannes is always the most glamorous and elegant of all the film festivals, I would go as far as to say it is the most fabulous event on the fashion calendar, it is certainly my favourite. This year was a vintage Cannes for style watchers, with appearances by judge and style icon Nicole Kidman, Diane Kruger, Elizabeth Olsen and Lily Collins. In addition, there was an appearance by style maverick Tilda Swinton (who basically slayed in a series of classic looks) and a whole raft of supermodels, including Sara Sampio, Bella Hadid (another lady having a knockout Cannes), Kendall Jenner and veteran Amber Valleta. The dresses ranged from the slinky…

Imelda May at Birmingham Symphony Hall
She has the most incredible voice, which is capable of singing anything, from blues tinged numbers, Nashville inspired melodies to belting grunge style rock numbers, and last night Imelda May wowed Birmingham once again with a combination of her brilliant song book and a self deprecating sense of humour that explained the stories behind the songs in brilliant style. Starting her set in torch singer style with the bluesy ‘Call Me’ and then continuing with ‘When it’s my time’, Imelda showed that her style has moved on from the rockabilly essence of her earlier albums. Now it seems like she has been listening to a lot of Janis Joplin and…

When it comes to naming the most iconic jewellery and watch brand of them all, there is only one name that springs to mind. It is like no other…” Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847…

La Cage Aux Folles – Sequins, Feathers and Laughs Galore
La Cage Aux Folles is one of the classic modern musicals and it was in barnstorming force at the Birmingham Hippodrome last night, receiving a glorious standing ovation for an audience that had laughed, cried and been charmed by John Partridge and Adrian Zmed in the lead roles. The story of love and acceptance seems more apt than ever in our modern society where politicians like Dindon seem to becoming more and more prevalent. La Cage Aux Folles is the most glitziest, glamorous nightclub/revue on the French Riviera, and Albin, as Zsa Zsa is it’s most famous (drag) star. In a happy relationship with club owner Georges for over 20…
