Where to find vintage fashion and accessories
Vintage fashion, and shopping for vintage fashion, just happen to be two of my favourite pastimes. This post is dedicated to sharing some of the best places for finding vintage fashion, along with sharing some of my favourite vintage pieces. Where to shop for Vintage Charity Shops Admittedly, I don’t think charity shops are as good for rich pickings as they were in the past, but many charity shops, for instance, Oxfam, do have areas of their stores that are dedicated to vintage. Charity shops are good because they tend to be cheaper that specialist vintage shops, and yet they can be full of real bargains. I have recently found…

A Fashion challenge with Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice
Anyone who knows me well knows that I have a great love of charity shops and finding a bargain. As a lover of designer, High Street and vintage clothing, I have been able to find some really great pieces from Charity shops all across the Midlands. So I was really honoured when I was asked to take part in the very first blogger Charity shop challenge at the Bournville branch of the Birmingham St Mary’s hospice shop. The Birmingham St Mary’s hospice is an independent adult hospice providing care to people across Birmingham and Sandwell. It cares for around 1,200 people a year, many who receive care in their own…

A few tips for updating your bedroom on a budget
For me, Summer is always the time of year to decorate and renovate. The warm weather means that it’s OK to have all the windows open as paint dries, and once September hits, I’m too caught up in Christmas planning to give the house any real thought. I had already mentioned in a previous post that we are currently planning on decorating the dining room before the summer is out, we also have plans for an overhaul in our bedroom too. But it has to be said that doing a host of home decoration at one time can be expensive, so I have put together a few tips that may…

A vintage Update
It seems like an age since I last wrote about my vintage and charity shops finds. A glimpse at one of my favourite vintage blogs – Porcelina’s World – this morning inspired me to share a few of my recent vintage and charity shop finds. Summer is a great time to find a vintage bargain. There are great car boot sales which are a good hunting ground. I found a great blue crimplene skirt for 50p, and a gothic black dress (pictured below) for just £2. Car boot sales allow you to barter and you can often make an offer if you find a few good items. We visit Wales…

It’s Christmas Jumper Day this Friday
I have a confession to make, this year is the first year that I have ever been tempted to wear a Christmas jumper. In the past I have always thought they were for someone else, I loved them on my sister. who always looks super cute in them. My good friend Emily-Jayne totally rocks a Christmas jumper, and my little boy Joe just looks adorable in them. But me, a total no-no. That is, until last Friday… I had chosen a really cute design from Tipsy Elves, of a lovestruck Christmas Yeti with a sprig of mistletoe, ready to move in for the kill. This must be the jumper I’ve…
