Afternoon tea with Santa at Wyevale Garden Centre
Meeting Santa has moved on a little from 5 minutes in a tacky grotto. Now, thanks to Wyevale Garden Centres, you can actually enjoy an afternoon tea and some quality time with the man in the red suit. We were invited along to the Wolseley Bridge branch to enjoy the festivities and to have a chat with Santa ahead of his upcoming busy night. Wolseley Bridge garden centre looked like a wonderful winter wonderland on arrival, with pretty lit up trees, Christmas music and a rather adorable magical unicorn on the route to the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, a special area had been roped off that caused much excitement for…

The best Christmas present ever
What is your best Christmas present ever? Currys have recently been asking this question and have come up with a list of the top ten greatest gifts of all time. These include the most expensive, which is apparently artwork that Roman Abramovich presented to his then future wife Dasha Zhukova (more than 61 million natch), and the most Romantic (David Beckham and a Bulgari necklace). You can view the complete list of the greatest, most expensive, most unusual, and even the most ridiculous gifts here. But I have to say my most wonderful gift was a Christmas surprise that money just couldn’t buy. My most precious, wonderful Christmas present is…

Penwizard Personalise Perfect Christmas Books
I’ve got a confession to make, I’m a secret Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom fan (although not quite so secret now come to think of it.) I actually think it is one of the funniest kids programmes currently on the television, one of those that works on different levels so they appeal to kids and make adults laugh too. Nanny Plum is a total hoot, King Thistle is like every grouchy dad you will ever meet, and Big Bad Barry is a total legend in our house. Ben and Holly used to be one of Joe’s favourite programmes, and now my beautiful niece Renee is addicted to it, watching it…

Megableu games – Review and Competition
Following on from the Megableu games review that arrived just in time for Halloween, we recently received three further games from Megableu to play with and enjoy. The games were Cobra Attack, Trickin Camel and Alien Mission, and either one of these would be a very welcome addition to any child’s Christmas stocking. They show that games have come a long way from Ludo and Snakes and Ladders. Joe totally fell in love with Cobra Attack, not least because it is a game that centres around a snake, which is my number one phobia and hence is very funny in the eyes of a 6 year old. The Cobra Attack…

PNP Santa – Festive fun for all the family
Every child loves a message from Santa, whether this be a personalised letter or a visit to a grotto. Last year I discovered a third way of receiving an amazing letter in the form of a video from Portable North Pole. This is a unique and personal video that can be created for any child, with the gold package, which gives you access to unlimited videos in a range of themes, costing just £9.99. PNP videos are just so much fun, they have been created to a really high specification, looking just like a mini Hollywood movie. Santa is just how you would imagine him to be, and the elves…
