My Selfridges Wish List
You know how it is. You see what you would love your other (better?) half to give you on December 25th. You drop all the hints, leave the magazines and catalogues open at the appropriate page, pause and rewind the advert when it comes on the TV, and then, on December 25th you rip open that parcel, and sigh at the fluffy slippers, or the oh so practical food mixer, or even (heaven forbid) Dyson that has appeared in your stocking. If any of the above sounds familiar, and fills you with dread, Selfridges may have the answer you have been looking for. You can create the simplest of wish…

Brave the rain with cute rain boots
After a lovely dry Summer, and a fairly mild Autumn, it is safe to say that the rain has made an unwelcome appearance, making the school run a rather wet and uncomfortable experience. I live in a semi-rural area, where drains are prone to overflow, pavements are often covered in deep puddles, and the grassy verges turn to mud very quickly. In these situations, fashion goes out of the window, and I turn to the wellies. However, these days turning to Wellington’s doesn’t actually mean turning away from fashion and style. There are lots of really cute rain boots around, many of which can be found on a site called,…

The Liberty London Doc is back!
The wonderful Liberty London documentary is back, and once again it is a total treat for anyone with even a passing interest in department stores, shopping and the history of retail. That iconic, mock Tudor style building is always a place I love to visit when I’m in London, it always has amazing window displays and sells items that range from the iconic Liberty print scarves, to the weird and wonderful. My favourite star of the show (so far) has to be the truly lovely Judy Rose, the warm and funny front of house lady who gives the Liberty reception such a welcoming feel. Judy has put together her festive…

Extra storage from the Plastic Box Shop
I cannot be the only one looking at a child’s Christmas list and thinking ‘where are we going to put all these toys?’, or trying to sort the wardrobe from Summer to Winter (I know I’m late, but two weeks ago the weather was still fairly glorious). and struggling for space to store the summer clothing until the warm weather comes around again. If you are also facing similar dilemmas, then the Plastic Box Shop would be a great website for you to take a look at. The Plastic Box Shop has a fantastic range of storage solutions that will basically address any problem area. If you need storage for…

Next shoes ‘point’ the way this season
This season, it seems it may be time to turn your back on those cute, round toed shoes. Safe and pretty they may be, but this season it seems the emphasis is on making a point. Pointed toes with a dangerous and sexy edge are making their presence felt, and whether you opt for flats, skyscraper or kitten heels, or even a wedge, it seems your toes have to be coming to a point. Next have recently launched ‘The Shoe Room’ on their fabulous website, and have a whole section dedicated to points. Taking a look at The Shoe Room is a bit like walking into the Haribo factory if…
