Jameson Empire Awards – Best dressed.
If you thought the awards season ended when the Oscars were given out, think again. Last weekend saw the Jameson Empire awards given out in London, and although Hollywood glamour was a little thin on the ground (Olivia Wilde in her nan’s nightie didn’t impress me) there were a few looks that you worth a second look. Look 1 – Bonnie Wright channels androgyny I always love the idea of a really pretty, feminine girl in a tuxedo, so I loved that Bonnie Wright went for this look. Usually her style is for quirky midi dresses teamed with colour pop platforms, so this was a great departure for her. This…

The Carrie Diaries – The first look
When Anna Sophia Robb was crowned as the new Carrie Bradshaw, we wondered how she would fit the role. After all, SJP left some pretty impressive Manolo’s to fill. But with the first publicity shot released, and with a host of other images from on set also leaked to the press, it seems all our fears have been allayed. Because Anna Sophia Robb is most definitely a recognisable young Carrie. With a headful of corkscrew curls, a sequined prom dress teamed eclectically with a colour clashing cardigan and gorgeous red stilettos, we are being treated to the clashing style of Carrie Bradshaw at her best. There are lovely nods to…

Celebrity style picks – featuring Rihanna, Kate Middleton and Alex Jones
Somebody told me this week that Fashion-Mommy is probably best known for the celebrity get the look posts, so as I am spending a rare Saturday night in, and I know that this won’t happen for at least another month, I would enjoy passing on a few more celebrity style spots for those who are intent on getting a little bit of celebrity sparkle. First up is Alex Jones. I really like Alex Jones on the one show. She always looks glamorous and has a great down to Earth charm that makes you forget that Christine Bleakley ever presented the show. This month she has been wearing some very eye-catching…

Fashion Mommy loves…Barbara Hulanicki for George
One of the best High Street collaborations of recent times has been that between the legendary Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki and George at Asda. The collections have used elements of famous Biba prints and styles to create wonderfully modern and up-to-date pieces. And,of course, being from Asda, the price points are totally affordable. These are pieces that can add lustre to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. The new collection is another winner. Full of pretty prints like butterflies and bubbles, along with the trademark tribal designs, this is recognisably Hulanicki. One major plus point of this collection are the adorable skull printed wellies. These are just perfect for festival…

For Mothers Day..some stylish celebrity mothers
On Mothering Sunday I thought I’d do a little style salute to some very stylish mothers. These are ladies who haven’t abandoned their signature style just because they have little ones. Ladies who still rock those heels and little black dresses, and always appear without a hair out-of-place and a perfectly made up face. And yes, these ladies may have nannies to deal with their baba’s, probably don’t have to worry about paying the mortgage, and have stylists on speed dial 24/7, but frankly, I still admire their style. So, especially for Mothers day, Fashion-Mommy salutes the real Fashion-Mommy’s. Not a pair of trackie bottoms, sloppy t-shirt and chocolate handprint…
