Trends in Men’s Jewellery
Once upon a time, a man’s jewellery box was a pretty lonely place. The odd ring might’ve resided in there, maybe a crucifix or a St Christopher on a chain, the acceptable necklaces for men, and there would usually be a watch of some variety, but that would basically be it. Jewellery was the preserve of women (and magpies) and real men avoided it. Let’s face it, some men didn’t even bother to wear a wedding ring, But times really do change, and these days you only have to pick up a celebrity magazine to realise that men’s jewellery is not only on trend and totally desirable, but is big…

The Baseballs in Birmingham – Rock and Roll fashion.
A look back at The Baseballs first gig in Birmingham in 2010. This article should really be titled ‘The feel good event of the year’. The Baseballs played their first concert in Birmingham tonight, and Fashion Mommy was there to enjoy the ride. How can one dress look so different – Pippa Middleton and Lindsey Lohan
Revisiting a post from 2011. Kim Kardashian got married last weekend, and amongst all the chatter about the three wedding dresses, the black and white theme and the multitude of famous celebrity guests, one topic seemed to stand out. Was Lindsey Lohan wearing Pippa Middleton‘s dress? Now of course, I don’t mean Pippa’s actual dress – that would just be plain silly. But the car crash that is Lindsey Lohan was actually wearing a version of Pippa’s full length green evening dress, the one she had worn for the evening reception at Buckingham Palace on the Royal Wedding day. And boy, did the dress look different on Lindsey. For…

Zara Taylor Jewellery – unusual, quirky and wonderful!
At the recent CICI press day I was thrilled to meet the supremely talented Zara Taylor, the founder and creator of Zara Taylor London, a vintage inspired jewellery line that is attracting huge attention and a celebrity following. I was really impressed with Zara’s creations, which look and feel like beautiful lost treasures that you have uncovered in a long forgotten jewel box. Zara’s pieces include cameos, timepieces and long pendants that are created from both vintage and vintage-inspired materials. I love the telescope that actually works, and the adorable ‘a nice cuppa rosy lea’ pendant with its delicate china cup and pink rose. The vintage timepieces, wore on a…

Birkenstocks – It’s Sandal Season
When people look back at the summer of 2014 they will see it was the year that the humble Birkenstock made a grand return to the fashion fore. The sandal that has always been known for the levels of comfort and support it provided for the wearer has this year been a bonafide fashion item, as the ‘fugly’ pool slider styles became beloved wardrobe foot fodder of a whole host of fashionable celebs. Style and comfort is a delectable combination, and I have to admit, one that I have succumbed to. Celebs love their Birkies My own Birkenstocks When online shoe brand Shoetique asked if I would like to review…
