Valentino:Master of Couture is coming to Somerset House
I am super excited by an exhibition that is going to be hitting London, specifically Somerset House, this November. Valentino:Master of Couture is a major new exhibition that will celebrate the life and work of the legendary designer, with a focus on his glorious haute couture pieces, as worn by some of the world’s most famous and beautiful women, including Julia Roberts, Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Sophia Loren. With dresses well known from red carpet appearances, to couture that has graced the world’s biggest and best couture catwalks, and with the special appearance of privately commissioned pieces, this exhibition promises to bring all the beauty and elegance of…

Duchess Kate – The final looks of a great tour wardrobe
The Duchess of Cambridge is now on her way back to the UK as I write, and has bid farewell to the beautiful islands and destinations that have welcomed both William and Kate so warmly. But before she left there were a few more glamorous outfits to be showcased, along with a wavy, more carefree hairstyle that showed that even those famous chestnut locks aren’t safe from tropical humidity. The navy blue, broderie anglaise dress from Mulberry has been a major hit for Kate, possibly because it has such a youthful feel to it, Kate teamed it with her Stuart Weitzman wedges, which matched perfectly. This dress has such a…

Laura Ashley – Vintage gorgeousness with 30% off
Fabulous frocks and exquisite quality are all hallmarks of Laura Ashley, which is why the offer of 30% off is just too good to miss. I’ve been trawling the offers this morning, and have to say how much I love the vintage inspired pieces that Laura Ashley always has as part of its collection. Last season I was besotted by the dress with the beach huts that looked like vintage 50s attire from the wardrobe of Audrey Hepburn, this season I just adore the stamp print dress with the black and red colour way. But there are so many other vintage inspired pieces, from 60s colour blocking, to Alexa Chung…

The Bletchley Circle – Loving Millie and her glamour
I’m a bit of a latecomer to The Bletchley Circle, I sky +d it so I could watch ‘Good Cop’ and shamelessly drool over Warren Brown. But I’ve watched two episodes this weekend, and have found myself falling in love with the fabulous glamour and style of Millie, played by the wonderful Rachael Stirling. The Bletchley Circle is set in the early 1950s, but forget about any Marilyn Monroe/Grace Kelly sort of 1950s glamour. This is Austerity Britain, a time when ration books were still de rigueur and when you found glamour and elegance where you could. Millie is a slightly bohemian character, all auburn hair and long swishing headscarves.…

Somerset by Alice Temperley is now available at John Lewis
This is one Autumn/Winter launch that has got me truly excited. Somerset by one of the UK’S top designers, Alice Temperley, is finally available at John Lewis. This collection has been designed exclusively for John Lewis by the designer, a favourite of Kate and Pippa Middleton no less, and is Temperley’s first collaboration for the UK high street. This is a truly beautiful collection that has all the hallmarks of the established Temperley design. The wonderful ad campaign features English Rose model Lily Donaldson, who looks wonderful in the lines – the perfect face for this collection. The pieces themselves show influences as diverse as Victoriana and Boho, along with…
