Preeti design – Definitely one to watch!
I am an absolute Twitter devotee, not ashamed to admit it. One of the main reasons for this is that, as well as the chatting and celebrity following, you get the chance to discover new designers, companies and products that may not, as yet, have reached the High Street. I recently made a new discovery which I am eager to share with Fashion-Mommy readers. Allow me to introduce Preeti design! Preeti is an internet treasure trove of beautiful fashion accessories and jewellery that have been inspired by, and made in, India. Preeti’s founder, Rosie Gregory, has a love affair with the colour and culture of India that she experienced first…

Enjoy a Vintage feast at Pavillions.
If, like Fashion-Mommy, you are a bit of a vintage magpie, then I have some dates for your diary. On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June, vintage is coming to the Pavillions, Birmingham. The fabulous City Centre destination will be hosting a vintage Fair that weekend, playing host to 60 stores that will be selling a whole host of items, from craft to couture, designer finds to real vintage bargains. The event will take place from 9.30am until 6.00pm on the Saturday, and 11.00am until 5.00pm on the Sunday, and entrance is absolutely FREE. I think this is a fabulous idea and love the Vargas style posters that are being…

The most iconic dress in movies is up for sale!
You may wonder what dress that title is referring to. Audrey Hepburn’s black dress from ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’? The black dress worn by Demi Moore in ‘Indecent Proposal’? The dress Scarlett knocked together from the curtains in ‘Gone with the Wind’? The answer would be none of the above. To me, the most iconic dress in film history was a simple, white, Sunray pleated halter neck that was designed by Bill Travilla. It was worn by Marilyn Monroe in her role as ‘The Girl’ in ‘The seven-year Itch’, It is the dress that famously billowed up and revealed her panties in front of crowds of approving New Yorker’s, and one…

New Diana dress auction – rarely seen pieces!
Every year seems to bring a new slew of auctions selling the dresses of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. This year has seen Kerry Taylor auctions selling a range of dresses once belonging to the style icon, including a copy of the famous revenge dress. June will see an auction in Toronto, Canada of many dresses that once belonged to Diana. There are some much-loved dresses up for grabs, including the famous blue velvet White House dress by Victor Edelstein she wore as John Travolta spun her around the dance floor in 1985. There are also a range of Catherine Walker dresses, including a asymmetrical pink sequined gown wore…

Kate – The Duchess of the High Street.
She may now be a real life Duchess, and wife to the second in line to the British throne no less, but Kate, Duchess of Cambridge remains the Queen of the British High street. Today, fresh from her honeymoon in the Seychelles, and looking tanned and gorgeous, she made her first official appearance since her wedding when she met the Obama’s during their visit to Buckingham Palace. Despite many calls that Kate should start to support British designers, Kate chose to wear the classy and elegant Shola dress from British High Street Store Reiss. This dress, which costs £175, is currently available at Reiss stores and online. In a biscuit…
