Kate’s dress is on show – but Queen calls display horrid!
The press got their first view of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress today when the Sarah Burton design went on display in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace, but although the beauty of the dress and the rest of display pleased most spectators, it seems the Queen wasn’t particularly pleased, calling the staging of the dress ‘Horrid’ . The dress has been displayed on a headless mannequin, with the veil and Halo tiara sort of suspended in space, which the Queen expressed as being creepy! Kate, who was viewing the dress with the Queen was more tactful, saying it was displayed to show a 3D effect. Kate looked fabulous…

Peacocks to release a royal wedding dress for just £60!
Fab High Street store Peacocks were one of the stores who had success with a copy of the Reiss engagement dress, and now they have launched what must be the most reasonably priced copy of the Sarah Burton wedding dress, priced at just £60. This dress is going to be launched as part of the Editions range as an online exclusive on August 6th, and is expected to be an instant sell-out. This is the first time that Peacocks has sold a wedding dress, and I think this is a very clever move, as this retains the spirit of the royal wedding dress, if not being an identical copy. There was only one choice for style icon of the month for June – beautiful bride and glowing bride-to-be Lily Allen. I have been a fan of Lily’s style since I saw her at Glastonbury wearing a multi-coloured ball gown and hi-top trainers. She had that eclectic mix of vintage and street style that made her look totally original. I was a fan of her Lily Loves collection for New Look (Still have two dresses in my wardrobe), and just thought she was a total one-off, an English eccentric. Kate Moss’s amazing Rock n Roll wedding!
She finally did it..and she did it her way! Kate Moss, the eternal bachelor girl, finally tied the knot yesterday with her rocker, and she looked absolutely amazing. Kate wore a beautiful vintage style dress by her troubled friend John Galliano for the wedding. This had a real 1920s feel, which tied in with Kate’s obsession with all things ‘beautiful and damned’. It was sleeveless and bias cut, rather like a decadent evening dress, and the hemline shimmered with rhinestones and gold leaves. There seems to be a new trend amongst stylish brides for more than one white dress on their big day.It used to be traditional for brides to have that one super special dress for their wedding day, and to revel in wearing it all day long, unless they left early to go on honeymoon.
