Favourite looks from the Elle Style Awards
Tonight saw a whole host of stylish ladies attending the Elle Style Awards. One of the most respected of all style awards, this year saw luminaries like Emma Watson, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne amongst the ladies in attendance. With a guest list like this, we were promised some interesting looks at the very least, and unfortunately, it has to be said that most of the looks on display were to be admired for being interesting, rather than actually looking that good.
Cara seemed to be dressed in a black satin dressing gown, Jessie J was basically beyond words and Ellie was again sans knickers and flashing the flesh, this time in a Matthew Williamson catsuit which I quite liked, but do feel we have seen before on Ellie. Luckily, there were some looks that were successful, including Sophie Ellie Bextor in William Vintage, and a very glamorous Lily Allen in form-fitting Roland Mouret.
Here are the looks that I rated.
Suki Waterhouse in Burberry
I think she has looked great of late, and this understated look from Suki plays up her natural 1960s style beauty.
Felicity Jones
I’m a real fan of Felicity’s pretty prom style, she reminds me of Zooey Deschanel. This dress is just lovely, I love the hot pink shade which is great against her dark hair.
Olga Kurylenko
Olga is fast becoming a style star who never puts a foot wrong. I love the fabric of this dress and the multi strap detail. I would’ve preferred a silver strappy shoe, but that is a minor moan, Olga does look fabulous.
Amber Le Bon
Amber kept it short and sassy in a black beaded dress. I love that she kept her hair up and left the jewellery at home. Also loving the silver accessories.
Sophie Ellis Bextor
I’m always a sucker for vintage, and Sophie is one of the key purveyors of the retro look. This is Grace Kelly ice blue, and I love the simple style. Adding the quirky dotted shoes was a masterstroke and true to Sophie’s kooky roots.
More looks I loved.
