New Look – Suki Waterhouse is the new face of the brand.
Suki Waterhouse is one of the most iconic models working today. She has the sort of looks – doe eyed, long blonde hair and beestung lips, that bring to mind Jean Shrimpton at the height of the 1960s. She is also famous for her relationship with Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper, and now she has been chosen as the face of New Look’s Autumn/Winter fashion campaign for 2016/7. Suki looks amazing in the ad campaign, and has also chosen an edit of her favourites from the current collection. The collection cleverly combines pieces that will work throughout Autumn/Winter as every day pieces, the boyfriend coat in this season’s very popular khaki…

The Met Gala – My favourite looks
Last night saw fashion’s most glamorous night, with the annual Met Gala taking place in New York. Everybody who was anybody, in the fashion world, in Hollywood, in television, turned out in force, showing off an array of some of the most beautiful gowns I have ever seen. The theme this year was linked to a new exhibition dedicated to Charles James, the 1940s/1950s king of couture. The Beyond Fashion exhibition was opened this week by Michelle Obama, and showcases a range of billowy, dramatic, sculptured dresses that Charles James was famous for. I was glad to see so many Charles James influenced dresses on the Met red carpet, most…

Favourite looks from the Elle Style Awards
Tonight saw a whole host of stylish ladies attending the Elle Style Awards. One of the most respected of all style awards, this year saw luminaries like Emma Watson, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne amongst the ladies in attendance. With a guest list like this, we were promised some interesting looks at the very least, and unfortunately, it has to be said that most of the looks on display were to be admired for being interesting, rather than actually looking that good. Cara seemed to be dressed in a black satin dressing gown, Jessie J was basically beyond words and Ellie was again sans knickers and…

V&A Ballgowns collection at Coast.
Coast has launched the most exquisite collection of dresses on the High Street of this, or any year. Inspired by the sumptuous archive collection of the V&A costume department, and more specifically by the Ballgowns Exhibition that was a true celebration of Vintage glamour, this collection is truly beautiful. Made up of 6 dresses, both full length and prom style, the dresses have names that call to mind society beauties of years past, Cecily and Daphne, Blanche and Lottie, Phoebe and Patience. And although Coast is a high Street name, albeit a higher end one, these dresses are more attuned to couture designs than to mass-produced pieces. The Blanche has…

Suki Waterhouse 1960s inspiration at my-wardrobe
One of the hottest new style icons that have emerged this year is über model Suki Waterhouse. The gorgeous blonde is the epitome of the 1960s ‘dollybird,’ with her thick blonde bangs, dark eyebrows and her pale pink lips. Even her name has a 60s feel, a hybrid of Suki Poitier, a tragic 60s model girlfriend of Brian Jones, and Keith Waterhouse, 1960s playwright extraordinaire. Suki has a wardrobe to match her swinging sixties name, favouring pastel mini skirts and dresses, white kid boots and tights, belted trenchcoats a la Catherine Deneuve and pink, lots of pink. This just makes her the perfect icon for this season, with my-wardrobe just…
