Red-hot edit from Selfridges
What is it about the colour red that makes it so special? Is it because red is the colour associated with passion and love, from Valentine’s hearts to red-hot lovers? Is it that fact that it is also the colour of naughtiness, of red devils, Bette Davis in Jezabel, and the deep red apple that tempted Snow White? Or maybe it is because of the connotations with Hollywood glamour, would those Ruby Red Slippers have been such a powerful symbol if they had remained silver, like they were in Frank L Baum’s original story?
I think it is maybe a little bit of all of the above. Red is always a showstopper, demands the attention, and is one of those colours that actually looks amazing on most skin tones and hair shades. Selfridges have utilised all those factors and have created a ‘red-hot’ edit for the coming season. From shoe designs by Alexander McQueen and Casadei, to dreamy dresses from Jonathan Saunders and sharp styles from Joseph, Selfridges has covered all the bases in the hunt for red-hot looks. Add a fabulous tiger motif wool bag from Kenzo, a bag which I am just crying out for this season, and you have an edit that could basically be your dream Christmas list.

Devil red, very vivid and such a sexy colour! Fabulous choices, the Aexander McQueen Casadet shoes are so elegant but come at a price. Love the Jonathan Saunders dress, the Joseph gathered dress & the Karen Millen top. Cant wait for our next visit to the UK!

Red is my favourite colour. I love the Alexander McQueen Shoes, Kenzo Shopper and Joseph Dress.
Red seems to be a key colour trend for Autumn/Winter 2013 and there’s lots of it in the shops at the moment!
