Reviewed – Pearl Rondel Bracelet from Pearl and Clasp

In general, the jewellery I own is costume stuff. I love statement necklaces, plastic bangles, little treasures I’ve picked up on my travels abroad and diamante bling. Most of my jewellery has sentimental, rather than actual value. But there is an exception to the rule. I love pearls. Pearls are the birthstone for June, they are a jewel that always looks pretty but with an edge of cool, Marianne Faithful, Marilyn Monroe and Madonna are just some of the icons who have worn pearls to make a fashion statement. Pearls are a style classic, always current, and always a statement.

American Company Pearl and Clasp have a fantastic range of freshwater pearl jewellery that ranges from fashion to classic pieces. I was recently sent a gorgeous piece from the brand, the Pearl Rondel bracelet. This is a beautiful bracelet made up of 6mm freshwater pearls combined with silver and cubic zircona rondels at different intervals of the bracelet. At the centre of the bracelet is a silver and cubic zircona bead which brings to mind those used by Tresor Paris.

This is a really lovely piece. The string is elastic, and this means that the bracelet is very easy to get on and off – there’s no fiddling with clasps or needing to ask another person to fasten your bracelet. The stones are both delicate and eye catching, with the silver sections really sparkling in different lights.

This is a wear anywhere piece. It is small and delicate enough to be suitable to wear as an everyday item, but would also look amazing when teamed with a little black dress. I think this would be a fabulous bracelet for a bridesmaid to wear, or as a bridesmaid gift from a grateful bride. This would be lovely as a first piece of jewellery for a little girl because of the ease of putting it on and off, but is certainly lovely enough for any grown up little girl (ahem!) to love too. The one thing I would say is that it may not be suitable for ladies with larger wrists, I have a slight gap in the elastic which I hide at the back of my wrist. But, other than that, I think this is pretty gorgeous by anyone’s standards.
