Smiggle opens in the Bullring
Last week I was invited to the opening of a fabulous new store in Birmingham’s Bullring. Smiggle is a stationery store that promises to bring fun, choice and must have pieces to any school bag. (think Paperchase with a younger target audience). The store is sure to be a haven for youngsters and teens, as well as a nostalgia trip for any adults who used to collect rubbers and key rings when they were younger.
Smiggle is an Australian company that has now opened 16 stores across the UK in 2014. The stores change the stock every six weeks, so there is always something new to see, making it a destination that will be on the must visit list for many in 2015. The shelves are colour coordinated, keeping all items of the same colour together. This makes the shopping experience much simpler – if you are purple mad – just head to the purple section. Larger Smiggle stores have an area for doodling and scribbling that will help keep your youngsters occupied while you shop.
A red carpet was laid out on Thursday, and visitors were given a tour of the shop. We were all presented with Smiggle’s current best seller, the amazing advent calendar that is stuffed full with stationery treats. This made Joe a very happy little boy when I got home. (Find out how to get yours here.)
I think Smiggle is a fabulous addition to the Bullring because there is no where quite like it in Birmingham at the current time. I think it will be very popular for stocking fillers and presents as we move towards Christmas – there are just so many lovely things that would make someone very happy on Christmas Day. I have my eye on some football related products for Joe and am looking forward to paying another visit very soon.
*With thanks to Smiggle and Georgina Maley from Small Man Media for the invitation.

Awh, I went to this opening too, it’s such a cute little shop! I loved the smelly pencils and the ones that could change colour! It’s just little things that makes little things special and different! xo

I absolutely love the look of Smiggle! Was thinking about purchasing some goodies the other day and now I’ve read your post and seen your personal pics I’m definitely gonna get some bits and bobs now.

Oh my goodness, look at all those goodies! I went through a stage where I was obsessed with all things stationery, I think this might just have reignited it haha x

As a 80’s school girl I was obsessed with Rymans stationery products(primary school) & was my favorite store for sure(not sure about this Aussie brand thought)!
*Look like the Aussie company is promoting mass-produced ‘cheap looking’ prpducts made in the PRC at a huge cost to us all.
