Summer Sandals
With Summer holidays almost upon us, now is the time to get those tootsie’s pedi-ready and into a pair of stylish sandals. Warm days can lead to hot, swollen feet, especially when they are being pushed into full shoes, especially anything with a heel. Luckily, sandals can now be a smart and stylish option, as well as something that is perfect for casual weekends, and days on the beach. There are sandals that suit everyone, from those who like a simple pair of flip flops, to those who need a more comfortable, supportive pair of orthotic sandals for women due to feet issues like flat footedness or high arches. Bunions may also lead to needing a more supportive design, even Victoria Beckham has proclaimed this to be a problem.
Choosing Your Sandals
Choosing the right type of sandal is not always the easiest of tasks. I love toe-post styles and find them easy and comfortable to wear. However, I know a lot of people who hate this style, finding the toe-post uncomfortable and irritating. I find that slip-on types of sandals don’t offer my feet enough support, and yet pool sliders and other one strap sandals are very popular this season. Heels are another consideration. Totally flat options leave my calf muscles aching, so I try to go for a sandal with a small square heel. or even a wedge heel.
Your Choice
Whatever you are looking for in a perfect sandal, you are sure to find it. There are just so many great sandal brands including Powerstep, Clarks, Melissa, Kickers, Birkenstock and many more famous names, it should be pretty easy to find at least one pair of sandals that addresses your foot’s every need. The only problem may be, with so many pairs to chose from, you may not be able to settle for just one – great news for your feet and wardrobe, not quite so good for you bank balance!

I am a big fan of flip flops in the summer, yet have never tried Birkenstocks – maybe this year!
