Wallis lookbook – Minimalist elegance
I was very excited to be invited to a preview of the upcoming Autumn/Winter collection for High Street favourite Wallis. Wallis is always a brand I look forward to seeing, and in recent years that have produced some excellent collections that have been full of classic design, but with a twist. Now attracting a younger audience, as well as the young at heart, Wallis has become a must visit destination on the High Street. For the new season, there is a decidedly minimalistic look that uses a sparse palette of black and white, but with shocking flashes of red to add a touch of spice. Taking a whole host of…

The Oscar Fashion Awards go to…
I adore the Oscars, it is, without doubt, my favourite fashion night of the year. And, despite the fact that E! stopped the red carpet coverage before the arrival of Angelina, Gwyneth, Natalie or Sandra, this was still a vintage night for Fashion. So, here are my very own red carpet Oscars to celebrate all that was good in the Oscar Fashion World. Best dressed Angelina Jolie opted for classic black Atelier Versace, but with a thigh skimming split that kept her sexy bad-girl persona in place. I loved that she went for black velvet, bringing to mind a sexy, Hollywood version of our own Kate Middleton. Super Gwyneth looked…

Style icon of the month – January – Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is my face idol. This woman is so beautiful she could make Helen of Troy resemble Grotbags. Those eyes, those lips and that skin – she is just perfection. And every year, when the awards season starts, she shows she is also a picture of perfection in the style stakes too. Angelina’s style is classic. With the exception of her love for leather, she sticks to classic. simple styles that she accessories in minimal fashion. She knows her beauty requires little adornment, but with the possible exception of Kate Moss, no one rocks red lippie better than Angelina. January was a vintage month for Angelina watchers. Her crowning…

SAG Awards – All the trends
Last night saw the next event on the glittery awards cavalcade. The Screen Actors Guild awards are less formal than the Globes or the Oscars so many stars opt for a slightly less showy look. This year there were some truly stunning looks on show, and some key trends, including 70s glamour, black is back and ponytails. There were also splashes of block colour, with red, blue and green all looking great on the Red Carpet. Trends 70s chic Angela Jolie wore one of the key trends on the night – 70s disco. She wore a stunning fluid black gown from Jenny Packham. The dress, with low back and draped…

The Golden Globes 2012 – The Best Looks.
Last night saw the REAL start of the Awards season, with the Golden Globe Awards. This saw a fabulous array of red carpet dresses from a host of designers and in a sea of colours. Here are my favourite looks from the night. There were examples of Old School Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. Angelina Jolie channelled a Marilyn Monroe style in Atelier Versace, a nude dress with red accents that just draped every curve. I loved how she kept her hair simple, letting the dress speak for itself. Sofia Vergara showed why she is a modern-day Sophia Loren in a form-fitting Vera Wang fishtail style dress. Some said…
