Reviewed – Mia Roses Foil skirt from Boohoo
First of all, I need to apologise for the quality of the photographs I’m using today. They truly do not show the fabulous gold foil of this skirt at it’s best. Unfortunately, in daylight the flash refused to work, so the pictures are a little dark. But trust me, this skirt shimmers with the gold foil effect and is really lovely. This is the third of my reviews of the new Boohoo plus size range. Boohoo, as I mentioned in previous reviews, now has a great range that runs from size 18 to 24. The range is full of really fine pieces, dresses, tops, some great knitwear and killer skirts.…

Reviewed – Eden Wrap Front dress from Boohoo
Last month I got very excited when I wrote about the launch of the new plus size range from Boohoo.com. I was impressed by the images of fashion-forward looks with purse friendly price tags, offering something new and fresh to the plus size market place. I reviewed the beautiful Samantha lace top before Christmas after I was kindly sent a parcel of beautiful items from Boohoo (you can check out that review here). Now I can bring you my second review, this time of the Eden Wrap front dress. The Eden dress is a classic faux wrap style in the most gorgeous cobalt blue. It is a great mixture of…

Fashion on a budget – 20 party pieces under £20
I read an interesting article this Summer about a woman who had been invited to a great deal of weddings. She had spent a fortune on different outfits, so much in fact that the total bill had run into thousands. The reason for this was the need to look brilliant, but also different at every wedding, especially as some of the same people would be attending each ceremony. I think it can be a little bit like that at Christmas. It is the one time of the year when you want to sparkle and shine, and also the one when the most invites tend to drop onto the mat (or inbox…

Barbara Hulanicki for George – latest drop
I always get excited about a drop from the legendary designer Barbara Hulanicki for George at Asda, finding hard to believe that Barbara brings all that amazing expertise and iconic print styles to a supermarket for such amazing prices. The latest range is now available in stores and online, and it is another corker. Concentrating this time on a palette of grey, cream, red and classic black, Barbara has mixed prints that have a late 60s paisley style with some plain items that could easily become wardrobe staples. Key picks? For me, the cape sleeve little black dress is just gorgeous, and totally belies its £18 price tag, whilst the…

Perfect Pieces for a working wardrobe
Remember the days when a smart working wardrobe meant a really bad suit, whether you were male or female? Thank goodness those days are over. Many of us need to have smart pieces in our wardrobe, whether, like me, you split work between home and numerous business venues, or whether holding down full or part-time jobs in any environment where first impressions count. Your working wardrobe says a lot about you, so the best wardrobe is almost a capsule one, made up of pieces that can be mixed and matched to make a range of different looks. You can pick up inexpensive pieces from George at Asda that can be…
