Style Crush – Octavia Spencer
There’s a new style star in town. Octavia Spencer was one of the winners at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, and now looks like a shoe-in for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. She was also voted one of the best dressed on the night in an exquisitely pretty pink/lavender gown by Tadashi Shoji. But this is not the first time that Octavia has shone at a Red Carpet Event, in fact it’s becoming quite a habit for the lovely star. Octavia, of course, isn’t a perfect size 10, but she is super stylish. And part of the reason for this is that she realises that dressing stylish isn’t about having a…

Barbara Hulanicki’s New collection for George – Exclusively online
Legendary designer Barbara Hulanicki has launched her latest collaboration with Asda George, this time it’s a fantastic capsule collection of must-have dresses. The capsule collection is made up of just four dresses, two wrap style, one tunic style with a very 60s shape and a cowl neckline, and one which brings to mind the flirty tulip shapes of early Victoria Beckham dresses. Each dress has a very Biba-esque print and comes in at the amazing price of just £20 or less – a total bargain as these are classic, wear forever shapes. The colours are also beautiful, deep magenta’s, rich blues and black and teal prints. My personal favourite is…

Rooney Mara – New style crush.
I’m a little obsessed with Rooney Mara at the moment. The star of the American version of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, she barely registered on the fashion Richter scale before the start of filming, but now she is frankly blowing me away with her combination of Snow White beauty and her impeccable style choices. If ever a girl was crying out for black hair, it was this girl. And with alabaster skin, a severe fringe and a wardrobe consisting of baby pink Calvin Klein, Givenchy couture and sigh! Prabal Gurung, Rooney is not putting a foot wrong style wise. And with a slew of Magazine covers under her…

Alexa Chung Style at A/wear
Alexa Chung is an undoubted style icon. Twice awarded British Style Icon at the UK Style awards, she avoids overtly sexy looks, instead citing 60s style icons Marianne Faithfull, Jayne Birkin and Penelope Tree as influences. Short dresses are toned down with chunky boots and quirky flat shoes, hair is worn barely styled, hanging loose or in simple loose ponytails and make-up is also of the barely there variety, with the exception of the smokey eyes. She is someone who looks chic whilst appearing not to try too hard. A/wear have used a lot of Alexa influence in their latest range of dresses. The great news is that the A/Wear…

TOWIE’S Lydia and Miss Selfridge…a match made in fashion heaven
My favourite TOWIE star, Lydia Bright, has recently collaborated with one of her favourite stores, Miss Selfridge, to identify a list of her top Miss Selfridge picks – the ‘Lydia Loves’ collection. This has proven to be a match made in heaven, as Lydia has exceptionally good taste when it comes to style, and is a perfect model for putting together great High Street looks. Already a fan of Miss Selfridge, often wearing their looks for public appearances, Lydia looked fantastic when she appeared at the Lakeside store wearing the gorgeous black floral embellished dress teamed with a floppy caramel hat. This was a great early 1970s look that suited…
