Designers at Debenhams – going from Strength to Strength
It’s latest advert boasts of ‘The unrivaled collection of Designers at Debenhams’ and, seeing the new ranges, and how more and more designers are producing collections for the brand, the claim really is hard to beat. Debenhams continues to be a shopping destination par excellence, the place where you can truly find an outfit for all occasions, and the new collections are simply too hard to resist. Debenhams is a destination for all ages and caters for so many different style. H! Reviewed Scarlett & Jo Green Crochet Collar Shift Dress
I am a huge fan of Scarlett & Jo. Since the brand launched in Evans stores I think they have produced a consistently gorgeous range of dresses and tunics that offer glamour and elegance. Some of the dresses in the collection have been slightly overlooked in light of the amazing Powerfit dresses (you can view the whole Powerfit range here), but Scarlett &Jo is about so much more than the Powerfit frock. The green crochet collar shift dress is a case in point. A stunning, dark green, 1960s style dress, with loose silhouette and a cute crochet Peter Pan style collar, this dress is simply gorgeous. Coming in green, red,…

Friday Shopping – Dress special
Friday shopping has been absent for a few weeks, as I have been enjoying Summer holidays and weekend breaks away. But now it is back and I’ve turned once again to a subject close to my heart – pretty dresses. Whilst some people live in jeans, or are never out of trousers, I always instinctively turn to a dress when I need something failsafe. As we start to head towards Autumn, it is nice to know that colour is still a big story. Coast have a fabulous range of £95 dresses that are destined to be wardrobe classics. I love the jewelled emerald shade, as well as the zesty colour…

Homecoming Queen Style – Perfectly Pretty
One of the most long-lasting of all dress trends is for those that we call ‘Prom Dresses’. Every summer, at weddings, ladies days, regattas and other occasions that call for something a little bit special, we see a resurgence of those beautiful, full skirted, often strapless dresses that hark back to the last hurrah of Hollywood, the 1950s. Those were the days when screen goddesses like Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Doris Day chose feminine styles that have set the trend for prom and homecoming dresses for decades to come. But when we talk about prom dresses, we often mean homecoming dresses. Prom dresses were traditionally full length Princess style,…

Frederiksberg from White Stuff
We may be in the Middle of Summer, (and something that resembles Monsoon season at the moment) but the first Autumn drops are already starting to appear in shops and online. One of my favourite of the new collections is from High Street independent White Stuff. White Stuff have embraced the coming of Autumn with their first Autumn collection. ‘Frederiksberg’. This is a collection inspired by Scandinavian prints and textiles, but that doesn’t mean that you are going to be walking around resembling an Ikea sofa. Eather, there are graphic prints, florals and butterflies on graphic paper backgrounds and large, Orla Kiely style polka dot prints on tops with cute…
