    Early Awards Season Sensational looks

Forget all my proclamations about hating January.  I mean, yes, I hate the post- Christmas malaise, the cold weather, no Christmas decorations, the lack of money and all round depressive nature of the month, but I had totally forgot about award season, which, for someone who would like to spend every day in a ballgown, more diamonds than Harry Winston and Jimmy Choo glitter sandals, is by far the best time of the year. The Golden Globes will take place on Sunday night, which kickstarts the frocks and the glamour of award season, but there have already been lots of smaller events taking place this week, which have been the…

    Friday fashion focus – Yellow

When it comes to colour, there is one shade that I always move towards. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, custard, buttercups and dandelions, of pretty tea roses and Big Bird, and it is one of my favourite things. I love it in Winter when the days are short and dark, it just adds a little bit of sparkle to make everything seem a little brighter. In Spring and Summer, it just adds to the general mood lifting and frankly makes me feel a little bit happier. Celebs love yellow too. For fans of yellow, now is a great time to add a few more bright and beautiful pieces to…

The Met Gala – My best dressed

It is probably the most glamorous fashion event of the year, and this year again proved that when the world’s of Hollywood, fashion and modelling combine, you are sure of some totally standout looks, along with a couple you’d rather forget. This year’s theme was Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, which ensured there would be a sea of Prada on display, along with a wonderful tribute to Schiaparelli’s famous Lobster print dress worn by Anna Wintour. There were plenty of other gowns to tantalise the fashion taste buds. These are my favourites from a wonderfully glamorous night. Carey Mulligan looked like a wonderfully space aged Judy Jetson in this stunning…

Style Icon of the month April – Emily Blunt

My choice for style icon for the month of April was a no-brainer. At a host of film premieres, and the Tribeca film festival, Emily Blunt just stood out from the sea of bodycon, micro-minied lovelies in a style that is almost a cross between that of Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly. With an exquisite collection of ladylike, calf length shift and prom style dresses. Unlike Kate Middleton though, Emily knows her designers. From red lace from Michael Kors, to my favourite, the wonderful yellow dress from Elie Saab, Emily has worn clothes with serious designer credentials. These are clothes that flatter her figure and body shape, whilst showing her…

Tribeca Film Festival – All the best looks

This weekend saw the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival, with a very starry line up in attendance. Emma Watson, Michelle Williams, Emily Blunt and Helena Christensen were amongst the celebrity line-up who were bringing some real glamour to the proceedings. There were lots of outfits that I was lusting after, so I have found it quite hard to choose my favourites, but here they are, with some ideas on how to get the look for yourself. Helena Christensen defied age in a strikingly simple, but eye-catchingly pretty Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. This is just the perfect white summer dress that every wardrobe should have. All it needed was a…
