Keeping your wedding party on trend
Planning a wedding is a big job, especially when everyone you know has an opinion about what should be worn. When it comes to the bridesmaid dresses, you can either pick them out on your own or provide bridesmaids with guidelines in choosing their own attire. The bridesmaids dresses usually compliment the wedding colour scheme and the brides dress, sometimes echoing the style in a more subtle way. In the past, bridesmaids dresses were often home made, and, could often be the very opposite of stylish. But this is no longer the case, with many dresses now being bought from the evening wear section of places like Coast and Monsoon.…

Reviewed – Navy Lace Dress from Lavitta
I love discovering new places to shop and find clothes that are designed with ‘women’ in mind. By this I mean clothes that look great on the hanger, but also have an appeal that is both stylish and practical. Dresses of decent length, with sleeves, in stretchy fabrics that move when you do, and in a range of colours that are not limited to black, black and more black. Lavitta is just one such label. Lavitta is ‘an exclusive online shop where fashion fits and flatters, and style and quality go hand in hand.’ Coming in a range of sizes that ranges from 12-24, it covers all aspects of fashion,…

Kate Middleton – Latest Outfits
It’s been a busy week for Duchess Kate. The state visit of the Chinese President has seen Kate attend her first state banquet, and she has also met Jackie Chan and attended multiple occasions in Scotland. For lovers of Kate’s style, it has been a real fashion bonanza, because she has, quite frankly, looked amazing for every occasion, with the Dolce and Gabbana Marsala dress being one of my favourite Kate looks ever. Here are three outfits from this week in a bit more detail. Look 1 – State Banquet. Red is always a great colour for Kate, and the Jenny Packham dress was a beautiful, formal choice. This dress…

Wallis review – A little blue dress
When Wallis sent me the Ink Lace Ruche Side dress a couple of weeks ago, I never in a million years thought that this particular dress would become my ‘go-to’ frock, perfect for all manner of occasions, easy to wear, and versatile enough to team with a range of other colours, including metallics. This dress has already been worn for two special occasions. Forget the ‘Little black dress’ and meet instead the ‘little blue dress.’ This is a classic 60s shaped shift dress. The neckline is almost slash style – quite high, but with pleated detail, whilst there is also ruching on the side that adds another element to the…

Reviewed – Planet Emerald Lace Dress
I have to admit, that at this moment, I am in the middle of a green phase. It has become my colour of choice when I want to stand out in the crowd, especially when it is the deepest emerald shade. Green is one of those colours my grandad was always deeply suspicious of. He considered it to be an unlucky colour, and one of his favourite sayings was ‘blue and green, never be seen’, which is now funny as this is one of my favourite colour combinations. Conversely, green is my mom’s favourite colour, and with my little boy being a green eyed beauty, this is definitely a colour…
