Weathering the storm – grab your Wedge Wellies
I’ve been a little obsessed with Wedge Wellies since I first spotted them on Dragon’s Den. The idea of a stylish Wellington boot that could also offer the height, and the glamour of a wedge heel was something that really appealed to the side of me that hates flat shoes. In the years since that Dragon’s Den episode, the not so humble boots have moved on from strength to strength. And, with the UK facing some extreme weather conditions this week involving the possibility of flooding, it seems appropriate to pay tribute to the force of shoe nature that is the Wedge Welly. Wedge Wellies offer so much in the…

New Season FitFlops
Ever since Joe, my four-year-old, started school, I have found myself doing more and more walking. I’ve found that I actually enjoy being in the great outdoors and getting around as much as possible by foot. In addition, school holidays are often spent chasing after a bike, being stuck in goal or generally traipsing around an assortment of zoos, museums and theme parks. By some quirk of fate, I’ve become an outdoorsy type. And therein lies the problem. All this walking and running around is playing havoc with my feet, especially as I’ve never been sensible in the shoe department. I prefer heels whenever possible, having never learned my lesson…

I can’t resist animal print shoes!
There was a time when I hated any sort of animal print with a passion. All it conjured up in my mind was tacky images of Bet Lynch behind the bar of the Rovers Return, resplendent in beehive and leopard print, closely followed by another corrie legend, Liz MacDonald, another classy, brassy looker. But those animal print hating days seem a long time ago now. These days I love any sort of animal print or skin. from leopard and cheetah, to zebra prints and even a little bit of snake. This has become the chicest of prints, whether you wear it in your clothing, or just keep it for shoes…

My Favourite Heels
There was a time when my wardrobe consisted of a dreary collection of flat heeled shoes. High heeled shoes, I would reason to myself, were for small, skinny women, the kind who could pull off wearing a tight top and short skirt without batting an eyelid. Sure, I’d forayed into the world of heels as a shy, awkward teenager, strapping a pair of clumpy platform sandals onto my feet in an unsuccessful attempt to get into a nightclub underage. Being tall, I’d never really felt confident enough to pull it off. I had all the flatties you could ask for. Ballet pumps scuffed beyond recognition. Suede ankle boots worn so…

Introducing DressLily.com
As a blogger, it is part of the job to trawl the internet looking for new and interesting websites offering fashion that is something a little different from the High Street. And, in the current climate, if the website also offers prices that constitute fantastic value, well, that has to be a bonus too. I’ve just discovered DressLily.com and I’m definitely in the mood for sharing. DressLily is an online clothing and accessories store that is well worth a visit, with lots of choice and prices that are frankly amazing. For one thing, the site is frankly huge, and it seems that you can buy almost anything fashion related from…
