I’m planning a holiday wardrobe…
Sometimes, an event that has caused you undue grief can have a happy ending. And so it has proved for me. A long-running case looking at professional negligence has been finally closed in favour of a close family member (will not bore you with all the details, but really, some companies are just not worth working for under any circumstances), and with it finally at an end, all thoughts have turned to having a family holiday, abroad, for the first time in a couple of years. And boy, is that an exciting thought! So, at the end of June I will be jetting off for two weeks in the sun,…

New Look sorts your holiday packing
Holiday packing – not that much fun is it? Trying to sort outfits for each day, every few minutes getting those suitcase scales out in order to check you’ve not exceeded the baggage allowance (which for some airlines is now as low as 15 kilograms). Well, what if I said that with some savvy buys you could get away with taking a capsule wardrobe of just 20 pieces. That’s right, 20 pieces. I’m taking a leaf from Gok Wan’s book and choosing pieces that can multi functional and can be mixed and matched to create a range of different outfits. You can get all the pieces featured here from…

Pack Light with Multi-tasking Designer Pieces
If you’re looking forward to a suitcase summer, what to wear on holiday is one of the most important considerations. Packing light can be difficult, especially for extended holidays or if you are headed somewhere with unpredictable weather – picking pieces which tick all the boxes is a must if you want to stay within your budget airline’s luggage restrictions. Pick items which are all colour-coordinated, easy to wash, and can work in both formal and casual situations. Dresses are great for these situations – wear them with tights and a leather jacket when the fog rolls in, with sandals and sunnies at the beach, or with heels and a…

Make a Splash with New Season Swimwear
Classic swimwear is timeless – a black swimsuit, big sunglasses and red lipstick will never go out of style. However, this year’s new season swimwear is fun, playful and (best of all) flattering – many brands are now offering figure-control swimwear that ranges from swimming costumes with tummy-control panels to shaping bikinis with high-waisted retro bottoms. Vintage style is making waves in swimwear with 1950s and pin-up influences, and colour blocking completes its total fashion takeover with a foray into swimwear. Finally, beach cover-ups bring the sheer maxi trend from the city to the sunshine. Vintage-inspired swimwear is everywhere this year. This floral and feminine bikini can be…

Pistol Panties Pop Up Shop launched at Selfridges
Last week saw the launch of the Pistol Panties pop up shop in Selfridges London. Bloggers and Press were invited along for a sneak preview before the official launch, enjoying the unique experience of the huge Selfridges store with no customers. Designer Deborah Fleming was on hand to talk about the collection, and a gorgeous carousel style Unicorn took pride of place in the centre of the swimwear, adding a psychedelic and slightly surreal atmosphere to the proceedings. Pistol Panties latest swimwear collection has been inspired by the 1960s Raquel Welch Western Bandelero. Designer Deborah Fleming grew up surrounded by brothers who loved to watch such films on Saturday afternoons.…
