Wallis new in – 40s tea dresses, draping and blue.
The new season drops continue to pour into stores, and my latest focus is Wallis. I always love to see what the new season brings to Wallis, knowing there will be stylish quality items in a range of colour options. Wallis is bringing us Spring slowly, with 1940s style fit and flare dresses in the great tea dress tradition, featuring floral and dotted designs. There are also tunic style dresses for those who like a more streamlined shape when it comes to frocks. Tops have draping, knot details and feature faux layering. There are some great, block colour options, as well as patterns that range from watercolour style flowers, to…

X Factor Live Show – Week 2 Fashion
Week 2, and the X Factor is still seriously underwhelming us on the question of musical talent. With the exceptions of Hannah, Sam Bailey and the knockout and eventual winner that has to be Tamera, the show is woefully under-represented when it comes to real talent. Thank goodness then, for the fashion watch, which at least adds another element of interest to the story. And this week it was most definitely honours even, with Nicole being the undeniable winner of Saturday night, and Sharon taking the plaudits on Sunday’s results show. Saturday Night Nicole always looks amazing when she wears bright colours, and Saturday was no exception. Her halter styled…

Wallis show their take on the Little Black Dress
It is hard to believe there was ever a time that the ‘Little Black Dress’ wasn’t the chicest item in a lady’s wardrobe. But black dresses were once there solely required for mourning wear, not for every day use, and certainly not for evening wear. Thank goddess then, for Coco Chanel. The Little black dress became the modern icon of style, worn by Audrey when she took ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, By Princess Diana as her revenge dress, by Kate Moss in a myriad of unforgettable looks, and by every young girl aiming at ‘Sophistication’. And whether you wear a simple black shift as a no-nonsense work look, or full on…

Reviewed – Yellow Print Jersey Dress from Wallis
I’ve been talking on the blog about transitional pieces recently, as we move from our glorious summer into the slightly chillier days of Autumn. It is still warm at the moment, but there have been duller and chillier days, a little less in the way of blue skies, a little more in the way of drizzle. And the nights are starting to draw in – you definitely need a cardigan or jacket when heading for a night out. As part of Fashion-Mommy’s third birthday, those lovely people at Wallis sent me some fantastic, transitional pieces to review. You can find the first review here, the second piece I got to…

Wallis – The Perfect Transitional blouse
I think we would all agree that 2013 has been a brilliant summer. Lots and lots of warm days and sunny evenings, giving us ample opportunity to wear our summer wardrobe to full effect. But in the last week or so there have been signs that Autumn will soon be upon us. A few more drizzly days, temperatures dropping during the evenings, a bit of wind chill when playing football in the garden. All signs say it’s time to start thinking of that transitional wardrobe. I’ve been given the opportunity to review some pieces from Wallis, and I decided to look at items that would be perfect for the transition…
