Style Crush – Octavia Spencer
There’s a new style star in town. Octavia Spencer was one of the winners at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, and now looks like a shoe-in for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. She was also voted one of the best dressed on the night in an exquisitely pretty pink/lavender gown by Tadashi Shoji. Barbara Hulanicki’s New collection for George – Exclusively online
Legendary designer Barbara Hulanicki has launched her latest collaboration with Asda George, this time it’s a fantastic capsule collection of must-have dresses. The capsule collection is made up of just four dresses, two wrap style, one tunic style with a very 60s shape and a cowl neckline, and one which brings to mind the flirty tulip shapes of early Victoria Beckham dresses. Each dress has a very Biba-esque print and comes in at the amazing price of just £20 or less – a total bargain as these are classic, wear forever shapes. A Twitter chat with a fellow blogger was the inspiration behind this post. Marina from ‘talk and type‘ (check it out, it’s great!) and I were talking about her brand new Zatchel, and about all the rubbish we choose to lug around every single day in our handbags. The Golden Globes – The Best Looks.
Last night saw the REAL start of the Awards season, with the Golden Globe Awards. This saw a fabulous array of red carpet dresses from a host of designers and in a sea of colours. Here are my favourite looks from the night. There were examples of Old School Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. Angelina Jolie channelled a Marilyn Monroe style in Atelier Versace, a nude dress with red accents that just draped every curve. I loved how she kept her hair simple, letting the dress speak for itself. Sofia Vergara showed why she is a modern-day Sophia Loren in a form-fitting Vera Wang fishtail style dress. Some said…
