Ginnifer Goodwin – ‘Think Pink’
For me, there was only one choice for best dressed at the People’s Choice awards. Standing out in a sea of sparkles and spangles was Ginnifer Goodwin wearing a glorious hot pink dress by Roksanda Ilincic. This dress stood out for all the right reasons. It was elegant rather than revealing. It was unusual in that it actually had sleeves and was of a demure length. And, of course, it stood out for the colour, that most bubblegum of pinks! Pink is a much maligned colour that could be about to embark on a bit of a comeback tour. Traditionally associated with the most girlie of girls, like Elle Woods…

January Star style, featuring Madonna, Pippa, Angelina and a whole lot more.
The January blues that make the majority of us want to hibernate until at least April don’t worry the most stylish stars. For them, January signifies the start of awards season, which of course means dresses, dresses, dresses. (Unless you’re Tilda Swinton when it means trousers!). So here are some of my favourites from Palm Springs, Critics Choice and the National Board of review awards, just to get you in the mood for Sunday’s Golden Globes. Spoiling you?…Of course, but you are so…

Terry De Havilland shines at Sarenza
Hi shoes have been beloved by the coolest of celebrities for more than 40 years. He’s known as the Rock and Roll Cobbler, and, in 1972, he created the now iconic Margaux wedge, a shoe so beautiful that Kate Moss is still wearing it 40 years later. He is Terry De Haviland, and his new shoe collection is now available at Sarenza. This is an amazing collection of must-have shoes that stay close to Terry’s rock and roll roots. The Margaux is still there, of course, but we are also introduced to some brand new designs, which give more than a passing glance to the 1970s heyday of glam rock.…

New Look embrace the Grunge Rock trend.
If you admire the style of grungy rock chicks like Agyness Deyn, Alice Dellal and Pixie Geldof, then New Look needs to be added to your style destination list. Channelling the style of those glam girls who always add a bit of a rock edge to their wardrobes, New Look has mixed midi and maxi skirts with brothel creeper brogues that keep the look to the grunge side of feminine. New Look say ‘Look to London style icon’s Pixie Geldof and Agyness Deyn for inspiration. Whether they are dressed up to the nines on the red carpet or trawling the bars of Camden, both girls work the look with natural ease.’ As…

Marilyn Monroe by Eve Arnold
Maybe it was because she was a woman, but Eve Arnold never felt the need to over sexualise Marilyn Monroe like some of the studio photographers did. In her photographs, many taken on the set of The Misfits, Marilyn is an earthy presence, beautiful and natural, a captivating woman with undeniable vulnerability. I first became a fan of Eve’s work in my late teens. A huge fan of Marilyn since childhood, the name Marilyn Monroe evoked images of a glorious goddess in gold lame, or standing over a subway vent as her skirt lifted around her head, a fantasy figure who was somewhat over-worldly. Then I discovered that an exhibition…
