Duchess of Cambridge arrives in Singapore
The Duchess of Cambridge has arrived in Singapore for the first leg of a Far Eastern tour, and has shown a little touch of Oriental style of her own. Wearing a pale pink, orchid print dress in soft silk from Jenny Packham, Kate paid tribute to her hosts in a beautiful gown that had a decidedly Far Eastern feel to it. This shows that not only is Kate once again paying tribute to her hosts, but that she firmly has her finger on the pulse of fashion, as Oriental style prints are a big news story for the new season. Swan by Clements Ribeiro for Evans featured stunning, oriental themed…

The form fitting lingerie style dresses look a little dated, and a little cheap, whilst the short a-line skirts and crisp shirts just got me thinking ‘so what’. They are well cut, as you would expect, but they don’t stand out as spectacular. That’s not…

Prabal Gurung Spring Collection – Bird of Paradise
Prabal Gurung is one of the New York based designers that I always look forward to seeing at New York Fashion week. His ultra feminine designs are always a feast for the eyes, and I found much to savour from his new collection, not least the sumptuous use of colour (particularly red and greys) and frill details. There were many style motifs running through the collection. Floaty cape effects were one which I thought were very successful, in the sheerest of chiffon fabrics, these additions to tops and dresses looked great and totally wearable. I especially loved this effect when added to a swirl effect shift dress. The use of…
