Flash by Jimmy Choo – now at Debenhams
I have a new favourite perfume. ‘Flash‘ by Jimmy Choo is the 2nd fragrance from the famed shoe designer, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Scented with white flowers, and with elements of pink pepper and strawberry, this is a wonderfully intoxicating and sweet-smelling fragrance that lingers in the air long after you have spritzed it. Encased in a wonderful Art Deco styled bottle that resembles a flashbulb, and with a pretty lavender coloured perfume, ‘Flash’ has the look of something you would’ve found on Jean Harlow’s dressing table. Boden New Season – Gorgeous spring brights
The Boden Spring/Summer collection was one of the most exciting I saw at the press days, and it is now hitting stores and online. This is a collection that is just bursting with colour of every shade, on dresses, knitwear and accessories. And, being Boden, all those gorgeous, quirky touches are there in abundance, from button back jumpers to colour blocking bags. This collection reminds me of Miu Miu in many aspects. Stripes are teamed with spots, dresses have a 1960s feel with Peter Pan collars and colours seemed designed to be both clashing and matching in equal parts. Golden Globes – Best and Worst dressed
The Golden Globe awards were a pretty glamorous affair. It was a night when it seemed everything and anything went stylewise, from colour to monochrome, lace to satin, full-skirted to streamlined. It was also a night when most stars seemed to get it right, although there were (as ever) a few notable exceptions to the rule. A great night for Adele, who went for a ‘girls night out’ and then bagged an award, and another great night for Anne Hathaway and Claire Danes, who won both the acting awards and the style plaudits. I have had a lifelong love of books and reading, and am now trying to pass this on to my little boy Joe, who has recently celebrated his fourth birthday.
