A Beautiful Spring At H&M
H&M has reopened, and its new collections have all the joy of Spring, and, in particular, an English Country Garden. Emblazoned with flowers of all kinds, in both brights and pastels, the dresses, skirts and tops that are currently taking centre stage in their stores are beautiful, colourful and innocent in both their design and styling. Already a hit with fashionable Instagrammers, these are pieces that are perfect as we re-emerge into what is proving to be a glorious springtime.
The collection has quite a retro feel too, bringing to mind the 1970’s style of Laura Ashley, with ruched bodices, detachable straps, midi and maxi lengths and frill details. Daisies and sunflowers add to the garden feel and make all the pieces fresh and vibrant.
They have also been accessorised perfectly with trainers for a more dressed down, casual style, gold tone jewellery and straw floppy hats, giving the collection a lazy Summer look.
Dresses do feature amongst the other collections that are currently in store, with more florals, albeit of a darker persuasion, and also animal print styles featuring. The animal print dress below is on my wish list, I love the idea of it worn with a simple 70’s style wedge sandal.
In other news, the co-ord is back with H&M once again showing that pieces that are totally matchy-matchy are still a big story for Spring/Summer 2021, whether in print or in block colour.
If you are coming out of lockdown, and heading back into a work environment, there are some great, classic pieces that would work well as workwear. The classic short sleeved knitted jumper, so reminiscent of the twinset and pearls style, come in a range of colours and would look great with tailored trousers or a pencil skirt. (I went for grey, but this pink is also on my radar.) There are also elegant blouses and sleeveless tops that could be great under a suit for a more formal look.
Have you checked out the new season at H&M yet? Did you pick anything up?
