Favourite looks from the Elle Style Awards
Tonight saw a whole host of stylish ladies attending the Elle Style Awards. One of the most respected of all style awards, this year saw luminaries like Emma Watson, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne amongst the ladies in attendance. With a guest list like this, we were promised some interesting looks at the very least, and unfortunately, it has to be said that most of the looks on display were to be admired for being interesting, rather than actually looking that good. Cara seemed to be dressed in a black satin dressing gown, Jessie J was basically beyond words and Ellie was again sans knickers and…

Duchess Kate wears LK Bennett Detroit Dress
Duchess Kate has worn her first new look of the year on a visit to Northolt High School in Ealing today, and she again went for a High Street Label. Choosing one of her favourite shades of blue, Kate looked chic and beautiful in the Detroit dress from LK Bennett. With its notched collar detail, this dress gives the impression of a bolero jacket over a shift style dress. The three quarter sleeves and the modest neckline make this another elegant choice for the Duchess. At the time of writing, the dress is still available in almost all sizes on the LK Bennett website, but this is sure to change…

Orange – Fashion’s newest obsession
Orange is having a bit of a fashion moment. Wherever you look, it seems likely you will spot that most zesty and fruity of all colours. It has been making its mark on New York Fashion Week catwalk, Herve Leger and Carolina Herrera have applied it to glossy evening wear, whilst J Crew shows why a brightly coloured coat is a must-have for grey days. On the red carpet, it is a smash hit. Abbie Cornish looked so beautiful in a tangerine Elie Saab number covered in embellishments, whilst Reese Witherspoon and Karlie Kloss have both shown how well this most citrus of colours adapts itself to bodycon and classic…

Boohoo -#Ownit – shop the Ad
By now you will probably be familiar with the latest ad campaign for Boohoo.com that is encouraging you to not just wear your clothes, but to ‘own them’. The #ownit campaign is all about encouraging people to feel good in their clothing choices, to shop for clothes that actually empower the wearer by making them look good and feel good, and to understand more about how you can shop for your shape. I love the idea of this campaign. We should always wear our clothes – they should never be wearing us. But we often feel obliged to follow trends that don’t suit us merely because they are ‘fashionable’, or…

Reviewed – Heat Holders Thermal leggings
There is one big elephant in the room that needs to be revealed before I write this post. I hate leggings. I have tried to like them, I got a few pairs in black to wear under shorter length dresses that I thought were a bit too indecent for me to wear with just tights, but frankly, I hated them. They wrinkled on my knees, seemed to roll off my tummy and just about drove me to distraction. My leggings were very quickly consigned to the recycling bin. But when I was asked if I wanted to review a pair of thermal leggings from Heat Holders, I said yes very…
