The SAG Awards 2015 – The Key Looks
I sat up late last night, with the TV switched to the E! Channel, ready for ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ coming direct from the SAG Awards. I must admit I love the SAG Awards as the style is usually a little more laid back than other Awards season events, with celebrities more likely to take a bit of a risk. But for the first hour last night, I was bored, and a bit horrified by the style on display. There were just so many ill-fitting dresses, in materials that could only be described as highly-flammable looking. Ladies who I usually hold in high esteem, like the gorgeous Julianna Margulies,…

Strictly Come Dancing Live Wows the Crowds in Birmingham
I can honestly not think of a better way to spend a rather cold afternoon, than enjoying the endless delights of Strictly Come Dancing, performed live on it’s arena tour. For sheer glamour, fun and family entertainment, it is hard to beat, as a packed house at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena discovered yesterday. Presented by the lovely Zoe Ball, and with a new judging panel that now included 2008 champions Camilla Dallerup and Tom Chambers (swoon and double swoon – read my previous post to find out why), the live show combines the best of the television series – the most accomplished dancers (in this case reigning champion Caroline Flack, the…

Golden Globes Great Gowns
Awards season started properly last night with the Golden Globes, which saw all the beautiful people out in force on the red carpet. The Golden Globes is always a seriously glamorous night, second only to the Oscars in terms of importance and star power, so, as to be expected, there were some seriously glamorous looks to be seen on the red carpet, with some colour and texture trends pointing the way to what we may see at the Oscars and Bafta’s. It has to be said, there were some underwhelming looks. I hated the 1970s bridesmaid dress worn by the usually wonderful Kiera Knightley (I’m blaming pregnancy hormones for that…

Rita Ora joins the judging panel of The Voice
If ever there was a lady who divides fashion, it is Rita Ora. Just this week the singer, who is joining the judging panel of BBC’s ‘The Voice’ tonight, was the reason for 100’s of complaints over the low cut outfit she wore on The One Show, a programme shown well before the watershed. Now the lady is going to become a staple part of Saturday night as she replaces Kylie Minogue as the female judge on ‘The Voice’. It is going to be interesting to see what she wears come the live shows. I’m a bit of a fan of Rita because I thinks she has so much fun…

Paloma, Joss and Ellie light up Hootenanny
My traditional end to a year, now that we have a small child, is the same every year. We go out early, to dine or visit family, and then get back home, pour the fizz and settle down to the glamour and entertainment that is Jools Holland’s Hootenanny. As I have said, it is traditional! This year was a vintage episode in both the glamour and the music stakes, with Paloma Faith being my star turn, especially when she turned in a tongue in cheek performance of ‘River Deep Mountain Eye’ complete with Tina Turner style dance moves and backing singers. Her ruby glitter dress was just gorgeous and so…
