Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals
It may have started as an American phenomenon, but Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the accompanying Cyber Weekend have now become a part of Christmas shopping. The discounts, offers, free delivery and other great incentives offered mean that this is a great time to grab a bargain, either in the form of Christmas gifts for family and friends, or a special treat for yourself as we reach the end of the month (which means payday for so many.) I have compiled some of my key picks from a range of stores, and will try to update this as offers come in throughout the weekend. Happy shopping! Coast – 30% off…

Review – Peter Rabbit animated series books
A big success on Cbeebies this year has been the gorgeous series based on the Peter Rabbit books by Beatrix Potter. The Peter Rabbit animated series is perfect for children under 7, with wonderful characters in the form of Peter, Benjamin and Lily (amongst others) and visually stunning animation that presents Peter as the lovely, wide eyed bunny we know and love from the classic stories. This Christmas there have been a series of books released to tie in with the series, and these would make fantastic Christmas stocking fillers for youngsters. The books range from traditional stories, in both board book and paperback form, and also a range of…

Smiggle opens in the Bullring
Last week I was invited to the opening of a fabulous new store in Birmingham’s Bullring. Smiggle is a stationery store that promises to bring fun, choice and must have pieces to any school bag. (think Paperchase with a younger target audience). The store is sure to be a haven for youngsters and teens, as well as a nostalgia trip for any adults who used to collect rubbers and key rings when they were younger. Smiggle is an Australian company that has now opened 16 stores across the UK in 2014. The stores change the stock every six weeks, so there is always something new to see, making it a…

Festive books from Little Tiger Press
I am in the opinion that every Christmas stocking should contain at least one book. Whether it belongs to an adult or a child, the gift of words is one to treasure, and the encouragement of reading through lovely stories with beautiful illustrations is definitely be something to be encouraged. Little Tiger Press have created a wonderful range of stories for young children (Key Stage One and younger) that would make lovely gifts this Christmas, or would be great in the build up to the big day. Surprise by Jonathan Litton This is such a gorgeous book for little hands to enjoy. ‘Surprise is a board book telling the story…

Grab a Disney Store Bargain this weekend
When it comes to looking at the most popular toys this Christmas, it is safe to say that products from the Disney Store will be right there at the top of the list. The perennial favourites Mickey and Minnie Mouse never lose their popularity, and seem to find a brand new audience every year. (My niece has recently become obsessed with Minnie Mouse – taking a cuddly version just about everywhere she goes – she’s 18months.). This year, with lots of interest in a certain film currently in production, the Disney Store has a new, must have, range. I am, of course, talking about the new Star Wars movie, and…
