Wallis Autumn/Winter collection – Up close and personal.
Last week I was fortunate enough to be invited to a very special press day for one of my favourite High Street stores. Wallis were keen to showcase the beautiful collection for Christmas 2012, and were also giving bloggers the opportunity to try on some of their favourite pieces. In addition afternoon tea was being served, complete with champagne and there was a great opportunity to find out more about the collection from the very knowledgeable Wallis team, and he chance to have your photograph taken by a photographer more used to snapping models for Grazia. Whilst Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger are having a fashion battle-royale on Saturday nights, there is another beautiful lady who is quietly stealing both their thunder, and their ratings. Tess Daly rarely puts a fashionable foot wrong, always looking the epitome of cool and elegant style. She has an eye for new labels, and has the sort of understated, immaculate look that reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett. Land Ahoy! Push PR’s seaside inspired Press day
Last week was the start of a mammoth round of Spring/Summer Press days. Yes, whilst the weather is turning decidedly nasty, fashion is looking towards Spring/Summer 2013 and the promise of sunny skies and brighter days. First up on my very extensive list was Push PR, who were clearly enjoying getting into that Summer holiday mode with their showroom resembling a vintage style seaside town. Life buoys festooned the room, as did saucy cutouts to pose for those seaside snaps, whilst fishing nets were the perfect way to display the gorgeous jewellery of Alice Menter and Eastern Mystic. Pippa Middleton nails this season’s berry shades
It was a very busy week for Pippa Middleton last week. On the promotion trail for her Party Planning book, ‘Celebrate’, on one day alone Pippa wore no less than four great looks, my favourite being the great plum dress from Roksanda Illincic. Pippa really nails this season’s berry shades in this dress, with its ladylike shape, great drape style neckline and sophisticated knee-length skirt. Berry shades, plums, purples, maroons and burgundies, are always a great choice for Autumn. Rich and warm, they flatter most hair shades and skintones, and just look great with boots and layers. Next launches a stunning new fragrance range
A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a very exciting product launch by Next. To be held at the plush Hempel Hotel in London, and concerned with all things fragrance, beauty and pampering, I was really looking forward to the event when disaster struck. My three-year old bumped his head at school and ended up with an injury that required hospital treatment. Instead of a luxurious pampering event I spent an afternoon in a minor injuries unit.
