Nelly.com launch party – Oh what a night!
Late on Tuesday evening the email I’d been waiting for dropped into the Inbox – an invite to the Nelly.com launch party. This was the much-anticipated launch to the exciting online company that is already the toast of Scandinavia, and is now set to conquer the UK. To be held in the luxurious surroundings of Aqua, this was a party not to be missed. And of course, it surpassed all expectations. The whole of Aqua had been the willing victim of a Nelly takeover. There was a nail bar treating guests to glittering manicures, rails of gorgeous dresses from the likes of AX Paris to drool over, and then there…

Christian Louboutin at the Design Museum – The Press Conference
I was mega excited to receive an email inviting me to the press conference and preview of the much-anticipated Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Design Museum. I am a huge fan of the man who created all those beautiful red soled shoes worn by fashionistas across the globe, and so couldn’t wait to get up close and personal with some of his most iconic designs. The Press conference took place on a beautiful sunny day at the Design Museum, with a panel made up of Christian Louboutin, Deyon Sudjic of the Design Museum, Simon Stacey the creative director of Household, and Diane Loveday the exhibition creator. The following is a…

Selfridges Birmingham enjoy Big Beauty Bang
Thursday night saw Selfridges Birmingham in party mood as it started a Summer celebration of all things British with the Big Beauty Bang. This was a night dedicated to all things pampering as make-overs, champagne and goodie bags dominated the proceedings. The atmosphere was a little bit carnival (think hoola hooping Cabaret ladies), a little bit fairground (the most amazing grabbing machine…more later) and very, very British – Union Jack Pommery Champagne anyone? Every beauty counter was offering free gifts with purchases, with key make-up artists also in attendance offering make-overs and beauty guidance. It was lovely to see Cesar Santos performing his cosmetic wizardry for Giorgio Armani, and I…

Kate recycles the Erdum Dress on her anniversary
It seems inevitable, given the amount of weddings those Middleton sisters seem to attend, that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would spend their first wedding anniversary anywhere other than a wedding. And Kate being Kate, attending a wedding means recycling another dress. We are so used to recycling her outfits now that not only are we no longer surprised, but High street stores and online companies are starting to follow her lead. The dress in question on this occasion was the Erdum navy lace shift dress that was such a success in Canada last July. And, as copies of this style are still available widely, it seems that Kate’s…

Happy Anniversary William and Kate
A year ago I was sitting in a caravan in Wales ignoring the sunshine outside, with my eyes glued to a telly screen. I wasn’t alone. Millions, if not billions of people around the World were sitting in apprehension, waiting for the moment when Kate Middleton would step from her car and reveal her wedding dress to the waiting world. That moment, when it was revealed that the dress was Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, made the fashion world gasp in delight. The dress was everything we dreamed it would be and more, which are words that could be ascribed to Kate, now the Duchess of Cambridge, herself. Of course,…
