Friday fashion focus – Yellow
When it comes to colour, there is one shade that I always move towards. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, custard, buttercups and dandelions, of pretty tea roses and Big Bird, and it is one of my favourite things. I love it in Winter when the days are short and dark, it just adds a little bit of sparkle to make everything seem a little brighter. In Spring and Summer, it just adds to the general mood lifting and frankly makes me feel a little bit happier. Celebs love yellow too. For fans of yellow, now is a great time to add a few more bright and beautiful pieces to…

Clarks Originals – still a style classic
When it comes to a shoe that is also a design classic, you would have to look a long way to beat the Clarks Desert boots. This year, the iconic boot is celebrating 65 years since the first pair went on sale, and they are looking as good as ever. This is the shoe (ok boot) that was beloved of the Mods, the Rudeboys, and claims to be the world’s most traveled boot. It can never be anything but the height of cool. In celebration of this most iconic of footwear, I was asked if my better half would be interested in reviewing a pair of Desert Boots from the…

Summer trends unveiled at Boden
Light nights, long days and lots and lots of Vitamin D inducing Sunshine. Oh, how I love and long for Summer. As seasons go, it is definitely my favourite, which I think maybe something to do with the fact that I’m a June baby – I’m never happy that when I’m lounging in summer sunshine with a Pimms or Martini. Another great thing about summer, apart from the aforementioned sun and cocktails, is summer fashion. Without the restraints of everything having to be covered by a heavy coat, we can turn once again to cotton and silk, to gorgeous colourful prints, and boho styles that literally scream ‘holiday’. Over the…

Wallis unveil their latest W Collection
Following on from the success of previous ‘W’ Collections, Wallis have recently unveiled their latest range, and I think it might be the best yet. With an eclectic mix of floral prints and stark black pieces at it’s heart, the collection is a veritable capsule wardrobe that contains pieces that will work well this Spring, and into Summer. A mix and match collection, the hero piece maxi dresses alone could take you from a Summer wedding, a day at the races, or a country picnic with a simple change of accessories. In comparison to the last W Collection, this is a far more feminine range, the last was heavy on…

The Wonderful World of Shoes
I have a slight obsession with shoes! Ok, scratch that, I have an enormous obsession with shoes. I just love beautiful footwear, and it is the one thing that I find really hard to resist, even when I’m on a spending ban. Trying to pass a shoe shop, particularly when there is a sale on, is the equivalent of King Midas bypassing the Jewellery Quarter – it’s just not going to happen. I must have two hundred pairs by now, from vintage pieces from Bally and Salvatore Ferragamo (charity shop finds), to designer pairs from Westwood and Marc Jacobs. I love high street brands too, and find all my summer…
