Feel Good Clothing
by evocateur We all have favourite items of clothing; things that we keep year in, year out, regardless of whether they’re still in fashion or whether we even ever wear them anymore. The flip side can be true as well, though. Sometimes, you might open the wardrobe and see a suit that you wore for an interview, when things went badly and you didn’t get the job, or a dress you wore on a date disaster. It’s not unusual for people who have gone through a break-up or separation to tear or cut up clothes that remind them of happier times; and doing this can bring about a sense…

Making our own Easter Eggs…a bit of a disaster
Some women deserve the term ‘Domestic Goddess.’ They swan around the kitchen in best Nigella mode, making the most mouthwatering creations from scratch, baking their own bread and cakes, seemingly able to rustle up a three course meal from a block of cheese and a bag of potatoes. Sad to say, I am not one of those women. In fact, I couldn’t be further removed from the term ‘Domestic Goddess’, ‘Domestic embarrassment would be more apt. Queens of Coachella
Coachella is here! Yes, the festival that is a triumph of good weather is happening as I write this, which means we are getting our first real view of festival style for 2014. Queen of Coachella Kate Bosworth is once again showing off her style credentials, first in a Carven playsuit, and then in a boho style white tunic for the H&M. Kate may be the Queen of Coachella, but she is not the only one showing off some serious style at the festival. Selena Gomez showed why white can be a good choice for a festival, as long as it isn’t a festival held in the UK, or anywhere…

Debenhams Summer Beauty Buzz
Last Thursday I had a truly lovely day in London attending a whole host of press days. I started my day with a real feast of beauty, and a mini celebration of all that is great about Summer, at the Debenhams Beauty press day, aka the Debenhams Beauty Buzz. This was a showcase for all that is new in Beauty for Summer, and also an excuse to try some new beauty products first hand. The weather outside was glorious, almost like a summer day, and inside the press office at the Debenhams flagship store on Oxford Street there was a definite flash-forward to holiday season. Candy striped deck chairs sat…

Fashion Focus – Adding red to your wardrobe
Following on from yellow and blue, my latest colour focus is based on the hottest colour, one that is, quite literally, red hot. Yes, Red is having a bit of a moment, with a host of celebrities wearing the colour to a number of high profile events. From the gorgeous Kate Upton in a lighter shade of red that borders on coral, to Elle Fanning resembling a young Gwyneth Paltrow in a sizzling scarlett silk number, red is making an appearance in all its shades and glory. Red is a bit like the bright version of black in that it is one of those colours that never really goes away.…
