Seventies chunky heels at Spartoo
The Seventies trend shows no sign of disappearing. The recent SAG awards saw Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton and Rose Byrne all embrace 1970s trends in dress. But what about shoes? I personally adore the variety of shoe styles available from the 1970s. By this, I’m not talking Noddy Holder or Ziggy Stardust type shoes, but the stacked heeled, cork heeled sexy platforms that were usually in natural colours like tan and browns. These were shoes that have stood the test of time, and are still worn to great effect by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel. I have recently discovered the French shoe stylist Spartoo.…

1960s style lust – Karen Gillan in We’ll take Manahattan
Last night saw the screening of the much-anticipated BBC4 drama ‘We’ll Take Manhattan’. This was the story of the photo shoot that shot 60s model Jean Shrimpton, aka ‘The Shrimp’ to fame, and changed the nature of fashion photography as we now it. The photographer who created this iconic work was of course David Bailey. Shrimpton and Bailey naturally fell in love and became one of the most iconic couples of all time. The programme was fabulous, with Doctor Who star Karen Gillan making a totally gorgeous Shrimpton. Now, Karen is no amateur in the style stakes, with an eclectic personal style that includes wearing rather clumpy shoes to the…

Sarenza shoe Ambassador – Living in shoe heaven
Trying to choose just one pair of shoes from Sarenza is like choosing your favourite choccy from the box of Celebrations, there’s just so many varieties, how can you pick just one? But just occasionally your eyes gaze upon a mystical object of sheer gorgeousness, and you fall deeply in LUST. And that is how I feel about my choice. These are little beauties, Burlesque Beauty to give them their full title. As you might have guessed from the gorgeously pretty yet quirky design, these are from Irregular Choice. I love them for so many reasons – for the name ‘Burlesque Beauty’ which just evokes images of the glamour of Dita…

Barbara Hulanicki’s New collection for George – Exclusively online
Legendary designer Barbara Hulanicki has launched her latest collaboration with Asda George, this time it’s a fantastic capsule collection of must-have dresses. The capsule collection is made up of just four dresses, two wrap style, one tunic style with a very 60s shape and a cowl neckline, and one which brings to mind the flirty tulip shapes of early Victoria Beckham dresses. Each dress has a very Biba-esque print and comes in at the amazing price of just £20 or less – a total bargain as these are classic, wear forever shapes. The colours are also beautiful, deep magenta’s, rich blues and black and teal prints. My personal favourite is…

Terry De Havilland shines at Sarenza
Hi shoes have been beloved by the coolest of celebrities for more than 40 years. He’s known as the Rock and Roll Cobbler, and, in 1972, he created the now iconic Margaux wedge, a shoe so beautiful that Kate Moss is still wearing it 40 years later. He is Terry De Haviland, and his new shoe collection is now available at Sarenza. This is an amazing collection of must-have shoes that stay close to Terry’s rock and roll roots. The Margaux is still there, of course, but we are also introduced to some brand new designs, which give more than a passing glance to the 1970s heyday of glam rock.…
