Phase Eight Press day
There are bigger press days than the Phase Eight press event, but you would have to look long and hard to find one that is more beautiful, more elegant, more decedently glamorous and more romantic. All of these words would aptly describe the beauty of the collection for Spring/Summer 2014 that Phase Eight unveiled in it’s James Street store last week. The whole collection just made my swoon. Made up of 1950s style floral prints that seemed to have been inspired by Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina, these are the dresses that will take you to every Summer wedding, every Ladies Day or Regatta. Grosgrain ribbon belts just…

Reviewed – Scooby Doo Adventures
I literally grew up on a diet of Scooby Doo! It was my favourite cartoon by an absolute mile, with my fave characters a toss-up between that loveable Great Dane and the gorgeous Daphne. In recent years the classic cartoons have been given a new lease of life, first through the feature film versions, and then with Mystery incorporated, which updated the 60s groovy vibes with a more Millennium feel. This was perfect for the more streetwise modern-day kids, but left us fans of the original feeling a little cold, and was more than a little frightening for little ones like my four-year old Joe. So thank goodness for a…

Treat your feet and grab a Clarks bargain
Ever since I was a small girl, I’ve had a thing about Clarks shoes. From those early days of funny foot measuring machines and leather t-bars that had to last the whole school year (stop growing feet! please!), to the day when I rediscovered Clarks and realised how cool and trendy the Mary Janes, Desert boots and ballerina flats had been all along, Clarks is a shop that has a special, shoe-shaped place in my heart. And, as we slip further through Autumn, and nearer and nearer to Winter, Clarks are again spoiling us with a range of sales and discounts that make it positively rude not to indulge your…

Selfridges Destination Christmas – The Emporium arrives in Birmingham
Last Thursday was definitely a red-letter day for lovers of all things Selfridges and all things Christmas. For the first time ever, Selfridges Birmingham opened a dedicated Christmas Emporium. Jam packed to the rafters with all things festive, including the most varieties of crackers I have ever seen under one roof, the Selfridges Destination Christmas Emporium is enough to make Ebenezer Scrooge dispense with the ‘humbug’ and reach for the Yule log – it is just so seasonably fabulous. I was invited along to check out the emporium just before it opened to the public, and this meant a real treat. Prosecco and Christmas foodie treats for breakfast was the…
