Boden – Top Ten Dresses for Every Occasion
I am totally besotted by the latest collection of dresses from Boden. Featuring a mouthwatering palette of colour, and a range of styles to suit all tastes and body shapes, Boden are again showing that when you need a dress for an occasion, they are definitely the shopping destination of choice. The 60s styling which seems to becoming Boden’s trade mark is still around, with the Wardour dress having that early 1960s silhouette favourited by Doris Day in those Rock Hudson paired comedies like Pillow Talk and Lover Come Back. The zesty yellow of the lace dress is sheer sixties ‘dollybird’ and has been styled as such, think Brigitte Bardot…

Dorothy Perkins Fashion Pop Up Event
Friday fashion focus this week is concentrating on a very special event being held in stores and online by Dorothy Perkins. The Fashion Pop Up event is offering reductions on everything, with savings of 10, 20 and 30%. This is across the store, including brand new lines that are just perfect additions to your spring wardrobe. So, in honour of this fabulous fashion treat, I have chosen my top ten picks from the sale. As you would expect, my edit is heavy on dresses and skirts, with a definite slant towards the sexy pencil shapes in the form of tube skirts and wiggle dresses. I am also loving the sorbet…

Evans – The Lace Edit
With the exception of the white variety, which I associate with weddings, I somehow seem to think of lace as a winter trend. But this season, Evans is showing that the delicate fabric is actually a perfect choice for that strange, transitional period between Winter and Spring. Lace is a versatile fabric. In black and dark shades it looks decidedly gothic, but the nature of the fabric is delicate and light, therefore giving it a softer feel. Evans have added some soft grey and Emerald Green into the mix, as well as adding lace to everyday sweatshirts and denim shirts, again showing the wonderful versatility of this fabric. Here are…

Wallis 1923 Dress Collection – The Little Cream dress
Each season, Wallis dig into their rich archive to come up with the 1923 collection. This is a collection that re-images and re-masters old designs in order to bring something to the fore that has a vintage feel whilst being totally new. This season, the 1923 collection returns with a tribute to the Little Cream Dress. This is a beautiful range of dresses that feature beading and embellishment to create dresses that bow to quite a few different eras. There are Art Deco style curved rainbows that echo The Great Gatsby trend, albeit showing far more leg than even that racy era would allow. The Cream sequin shift dress is…

Spring Florals from Monsoon, plus the pick of the sales
The nights are getting lighter, we’ve seen a few blue skies, and , even though yesterday saw snow pretty much everywhere, Spring is around the corner, or at least it is according to some of our favourite stores. One of the best gauges of how close we are to spring is when the shops start to fill with pretty floral prints. And Monsoon have some of the prettiest around at the moment. I must admit to being a fan of floral prints of all varieties. I love the bright garish flowers that suggest South Sea islands and tropical climes, the soft chintzy rose that are just so English, the lotus…
