Roll-up, Roll-up for the Selfridges Shoe Carnival
What is your favourite carnival? Maybe you attend a local one each year, with floats full of children in fancy dress. Do you go to Notting Hill every August, seeing out the end of the holidays in festive style? Or maybe you’ve got further afield, to the beauty of the Venice carnival, with its masked figures and Rococo style elegance, or to sun dripped Brazil for the Mardi Gras? Fabulous carnivals one and all. But this year you don’t need to travel that far to experience all the fun of the carnival. Just pop along to Selfridges and experience the colour, vitality and sheer lustworthy beauty of the Shoe Carnival…

The Oscar Fashion Awards go to…
I adore the Oscars, it is, without doubt, my favourite fashion night of the year. And, despite the fact that E! stopped the red carpet coverage before the arrival of Angelina, Gwyneth, Natalie or Sandra, this was still a vintage night for Fashion. So, here are my very own red carpet Oscars to celebrate all that was good in the Oscar Fashion World. Best dressed Angelina Jolie opted for classic black Atelier Versace, but with a thigh skimming split that kept her sexy bad-girl persona in place. The Met Ball – Frocky Horrors.
The Met ball was a night of High Fashion, but for every beautiful dress, there was a frocky horror story happening. Bad clothes did happen to good people on the evening. Here are the stars who really should’ve looked in a mirror before they left the house that evening! Rihanna. Rosie Huntington Whiteley, officially the sexiest…

Gucci and the colour clash.
BLUE AND GREEN NEVER BE SEEN! That was one of my Grandad’s favourite sayings concerning fashion (the other being never put new shoes on the table.). I always thought the blue and green was funny, because I personally loved those two colours, in their brightest forms, together. But this season, fashion has decreed that any two, or even three colours, can be worn together in any combination and look amazing. And it’s thanks, in no small part to Gucci! Last Autumn Gucci unveiled a collection for Spring/summer 2011 that was filled overwhelmingly with colour clashing bright shades, a veritable pastiche of Studio 54, circa 1977. Purple cigarette pants worn with silky…

Golden Globes – Best, Worst And Trends!
Last night Fashion-Mommy stayed up until 2pm live blogging on the Fashion parade that was the 2011 Golden Globe awards. There were some amazing, and not so amazing looks on show on the Red Carpet. Now the dust has settled, I am going to update you on all the trends, the looks I adored and the ones that I could well do without. Everyone’s gone GREEN! No , unfortunately I’m not talking about all the stars becoming ecologically sound, I’m talking about what was definitely the colour of the night. Bottle green was a big story on the new carpet, and most of those who chose this colour wore it…
